Flicks on DVD – I Am Number Four, Gnomeo & Juliet, Violet Tendencies

A slow week for big movies on home video includes two Disney releases, an indie film starring Mindy Cohn, classic war and racing films coming to Blu-ray for the first time, and two exciting releases from The Criterion Collection.

Alex Pettyfer and Diana Agron star in "I Am Number Four"

It’s not a big week for new theatrical releases on home video, but Disney is offering up two of its latest films, and an indie film about a 40-something woman who can’t find a man because all of her male friends are gay may be interesting to some because of its star: Mindy Cohn aka Natalie from The Facts of Life! Some catalog titles come to Blu-ray for the first time to commemorate the Civil War anniversary and Memorial Day and celebrate racing (and they make great Father’s Day gifts). The Criterion Collection also unveils two classic films in sparkling new DVD and Blu-ray editions.
