You can tell the holidays are coming as the studios start releasing some of their big guns from the summer. First out of the gate this week is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 in several different versions. There is also a complete collection with all eight films coming. Take note: Warner Brothers is pulling all of the Harry Potter films from release on December 29th. Retailiers will sell their stock until it’s depleted, but don’t worry, there will be a new ultimate collection coming in 2012. They won’t let that cash cow die.
We’ve also got a few little seen releases, including what is purported to be one of the worst movies ever made, and a great collection of titles making their Blu-ray debuts (it’s really been 25 years since Blue Velvet was released?). Disney is also re-issuing several of their animated films in the new 3D Blu-ray format, and the Criterion Collection brings a classic Ingmar Bergman film to Blu-ray.
