You gave just enough info to know how valuable the extras are and some great technical comments on what we should expect from a modern blu-ray. Thank you.

Knowing all of the process of filming and scoring the film makes me want to watch it again and really pay attention to how the soundscape (music, sound effects) actually moves around with the action on screen and just marvel at how photorealistic everything — including things you never thought were CG — is. If you love to know how movies are made, the bonus features make it well worth the price.

And I was sure I would never want to see it on anything but a big movie screen, even with Blu-Ray and my 55-inch Sony. But if they’ve put nearly 3 hours of bonus materials on it, which I’m sure won’t be on any copy available for rental, that changes things for me. Assuming I can bear to watch the film deconstructed (and possibly ruin the experience), this just may be a Blu-Ray worth purchasing. Thanks for focusing on the image and sound quality, and the bonus features–that’s what a buyer would really be interested in, not a lazy recitation of the plot, like so many other reviews would have.
