Michael’s description of appropriate attire was absolutely bang on the mark.

I’d have to guess that the advertising agency actually had no concept of what a woman in charge of something – shop, office, country – looks like. There’s a huge misogynistic streak running through a lot of today’s commercials – shrieking harpies and stupid blondes selling insurance, women dumping boyfriends for pigs (actual pigs!), brides opting for cars instead of husbands, women sniping at husbands for being Canadian (?), guys scrubbing off horrible girlie cooties when the accidentally use their significant other’s deodorant – on and on and on. This is just one more slap – Woman Too Stupid To Know How To Dress.

Hey, Advertising Age! Do you think women will buy your products after being enthusiastically insulted? Not likely. Clients, you might want to take note.

TROUSERS — were you meeting in a bouncy house?
LONG-SLEEVED SHIRT — Winter in Miami Vice?
JTSOI–interesting clintonish stain? light sabre theme? tied so the top was shorter than the bottom?
