Who’s your favorite TV werewolf? – Poll

Will it be one of the new werewolves from MTV's 'Teen Wolf', or an old favorite like 'Buffy's' Oz? Vote in the poll and let your voice be heard.

A while ago, Keith put a sidebar poll up on the front page of CliqueClack TV asking about your favorite TV werewolf. That was before the debut of MTV’s Teen Wolf, so I thought a proper treatment of the subject matter, complete with CC TV staff banter, was called for. We nominated and discussed, raved and ranted … as always.

Brett: The only one I have off the top of my head would be Mason Greyback, from Wizards of Waverly Place. I don’t follow that one that closely, so I’m not sure of his current status. He is, or was, Alex’s boyfriend.

Bob: I like Debbie Pelt on True Blood even though everyone hates her. I love her mostly because she is played by Britt Morgan who reminds me of The Middleman, which I still miss.

Carla: When I look at the list of werewolves none of them jump out at me as a clear favorite. On each show, they are so different. For my overall favorite, it is a toss-up between Josh from Being Human and Alcide from True Blood. They are both loyal and protective of those in their lives. I enjoy the nice guy dealing with his situation while trying to be as normal possible journey that Josh is going through. On the opposite side, I also enjoy watching the sexy, confident Alcide. Though, I’d love it much more if he would get rid of the trashy Debbie!

Michael: And … not knowing enough about any current werewolves, this is my only contribution:

(Isn’t it amazing that just about any discussion can bring up a valid Young Frankenstein quotation or reference … ??? *swoon*)

Bob: “Stay close to the candles, the stairs can be treacherous.”

Debbie: Is there a Young Frankenstein reference that isn’t valid? One of the best movies ever!

An: I have to throw my hat in the ring for Josh in Syfy’s Being Human. He went from the whiny, angsty werewolf that could give Twilight angst a run for its money to a kickass werewolf accepting the harsh realities accompanying his supernatural state. The way he told Aidan to “handle” his vampire kid? Cold-blooded. His handling of killing the other werewolf without his usual hyper-crazy freaking out? Surprising. His willingness to FINALLY step up and defend Aidan the way Aidan fought for him? Mature and accepting.

I haven’t watched True Blood since Alcide joined, but ruff to his ablicious butt cheeks.

Finally, I have to add Henry from Sanctuary on Ruby’s behalf.

Katie: Can we count Queen Victoria in Doctor Who?

Carla: There’s a werewolf on Doctor Who? This show sounds crazier and crazier.

What? No CliqueClack love for Tyler on Vampire Diaries? Any others that you think we missed? Vote in the poll and elaborate in the comments.

You can vote once per day. The poll will close on Friday, September 9th at 11:59 pm ET.

Nina Pickering (Being Human) for the win!

It’s a toss-up between Josh from Being Human (the funniest) & Oz from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the most zen). However, there is no option for “tie”, so I chose Josh.

Josh has the better body doesnt he? HOWLLL woof woof

An – THANK YOU!

I am thrilled to be Henry’s one voter.

(That’s a hint, people – vote for Henry!)

My vote would be for Eric Cord (played by John J. York) from Fox’s old 1980s show Werewolf.

Oh my, I had forgotten all about this show until you just mentioned it — my sister and I loved it! Thanks for the nostalgia!

Definitely Oz, btw Queen Victoria does not become a werewolf in Dr Who, but it is suggested that some of her descendants will.

NINA!!! (Being Human) SINEAD KEENAN ROX!!

September 6, 2011 at 10:31 PM

Totally Josh from Being Human. He’s the only one I’d let sleep at the bottom of my bed. Just met Sam Huntington at Dragoncon and he’s adorably funny.

Can we have Dyson from Lost Girl added ? :D

September 7, 2011 at 7:25 PM

favorite werewolf is Lon Chaney Jr. in the werewolf. no one until josh on being human has been able to come close.

Definitely George and Nina from Being Human UK original! My god, the transformations are so realistic! I prefer the puppetry and animatronics to CGI and that rubbish, and the Werewolves actually look like werewolves and not wolves on steroids! For those of you who like the Syfy version, I suggest you check out the original, some of the episodes are almost word for word the same in parts, but only because Syfy ripped it off :P

Are you kidding its a man or person in a suit. josh wolf looks so much better

September 8, 2011 at 11:14 AM

@Winry I totally agree, it can only be George.. Nina is good but George is the best.. just need everyone to vote for him.. he was in the lead for a while as well..

I must say though that the UK version of Being Human is a much watch, I have no interest in the Vampire/Werewolf genre, but I can’t wait for season 4 of Being Human, its just fantastic, the humour, and everything else in it has had me gripped. It was my daughter that started me watching it, and for once she was right, its brill..

if you haven’t seen it, go and find it, its far far superior to the US version, which I feel has a cardboardy feel to the acting. I know why they did the remake, but trust me you cant remake perfection.. :)

I have and it sucks the guy who plays Mitchell was happy Adian DIED. You want to keep your show going dont kill the main cast

September 8, 2011 at 1:01 PM

HENRY, HENRY, HENRY!!! No other werewolf even comes close and no one can play the part better than Ryan Robbins!

September 9, 2011 at 5:31 PM

Why mess with a good thing? Lon Chaney, Jr is the best and always will be.

And, Michael, there is NO werewolf in Young Frankenstein!

September 9, 2011 at 6:01 PM

HENRY!!! He’s the best, hands down.

September 9, 2011 at 6:18 PM

USA being human has up the notch for BH UK which sucks now Mitchell dead and now they can continue the series I DONT THINK! GO JOSHY

September 9, 2011 at 6:31 PM

Hey Mik, you do realise that being human USA is just the being human UK scirpts but adapted so it works with an american audience. The USA version will kill off their version of Mitchell. That is if SyFy keep it going that long. They dont seem to keep any decent show beyond 2 seasons anymore. (with the exception of Sanctuary).

Go Henry for the Win

September 9, 2011 at 7:30 PM

How do you know that? Bernie USA died the british bernie was alive and now his on he loose so we will see. Plus it seems Nora lost the baby so thats another thing that the USA version wont have. Bishop comes back but will USA version have another Kemp? remains too be seen. Seeing what @sammyhuntington says we will see more werewolves in the next season. We did see some in the UK version but not many. So I doubt the the US Version will kill Aidan.

September 12, 2011 at 6:13 PM

Josh has 22% Henry has 36%. If you made it to 5th grade math, you’d realize that Henry won.

September 12, 2011 at 6:23 PM
