What’s your favorite FOX sitcom? – Poll

Vote in the poll to decide which FOX live-action sitcom is the fan favorite, then come back next week to vote on your favorite network sitcom from among the winners of the ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX polls. It's ON!

The showdown looms ahead, and you don’t have long to wait until the winner of the favorite network live-action sitcom poll is announced … but first, which show from FOX will join our other winners? Community has taken the honors from NBC; Cougar Town is your favorite ABC sitcom; How I Met Your Mother wins the CBS title.

Next week, the winners will face off in the ultimate favorite sitcom poll, but first, here’s what the CliqueClackers have to say in support of their favorite FOX sitcoms:

Katie:

I don’t watch it often, but I do enjoy Raising Hope. It’s sweet without being saccharine, dark without being critical.

Michael:

New Girl, obviously.

And I can site episode 17’s quote from Winston when he was challenged to use “Mesopotamia” in a sentence as an example of why: “Look … there’s Mesopotamia.” Brilliant.

And dare I say the cast of New Girl is better than the titular character herself? It sure is turning out that way. That’s a reason for it to be my favorite FOX sitcom.

Bob:

New Girl. I’m pleasantly surprised that the writers were able to make the show more than just a vehicle for Zooey Deschanel. It’s turned out to be a pretty decent ensemble comedy, though I wish the writers could find more for Winston to do. There have been flashes (his crazy car, his uncanny skills with hand bells), but it feels like the character still falls to the background more often than not.

 An:

New Girl has my vote for the win, although I don’t feel the show eclipsed its star. They both share the limelight awesomely.

I don’t think Fox ruined Breaking In. For the first time, I enjoyed it this week. Instead of reducing the Melanie character to the stock, hot girl with attitude, I saw a more fleshed-out character. Of course, right when I like the character, they remove her. But, overall I enjoyed the dialogue and plot which seemed quicker and more fluid. Also, reducing the other slacker character stereotype helped. At first, I was upset that they removed the big heist, but I’d rather see good, cohesive writing. Although Oz is slightly reduced, he’s still awesome with the Captain Kirk interrogation and out-thinking ‘Rembrandt.’ Megan Mullally is a great addition. But, her character still needs development. I don’t want them to overtly reduce her to quirky mannerisms, like they did with Oz. Also, Carol is awesome. Both Cameron and Cash improved drastically.

So, after New Girl, the revamped Breaking In.

Tara:

Here’s my two cents for what it’s worth …

Everyone who has read my reviews knows how I feel about Raising Hope. The writing is fabulous, quick witted and completely suits the characters. The actors are a seamless ensemble. It’s quirky and silly and every week you’re guaranteed something different. It’s all over the place in the greatest messy way.

No other Fox sitcom can touch it.

Your turn, readers — what’s your favorite FOX live-action sitcom? Vote in the poll once a day until the poll expires on Sunday, April 1 at 11:59 p.m. Good luck to your favorite!
