Royal Pains – Judy Greer shakes things up

After a week off, 'Royal Pains' returned with a fun episode featuring a ton of characters along with the always hilarious Judy Greer who stole the show. However, it wasn't all fun and games ... a mysterious crime may just decrease property value. In the Hamptons? Say it ain't so!

- Season 4, Episode 5 - "You Give Love a Bad Name"

After a week off, it’s great to be back in the Hamptons. Seriously. I was beginning to have withdrawals. Nevertheless, it is really good to have Hank back — and even better to see him and Evan getting along again. See, guys? There’s still hope for this season yet, eh? Fans were vocal about the Lawson brother feud a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed seeing the writers bring Hank and Evan back together to launch HankMed 3.0 with all of their new colorful employees.

Come to think of it, this episode sure did feature a lot of people, didn’t it? I mean, Henry Winkler was back again for another go-round as Eddie Lawson, and we even got a cameo appearance from Christine Ebersole as Ms. Newberg. That was nice. However, what I really enjoyed was Judy Greer as the matchmaker with heart problems. Greer has always been a funny woman, and I liked the fact that she received a lot of screen time. I’ll admit that I’ve never watched Royal Pains for the medical cases. I much rather prefer the interactions and lives of the main cast, but Greer was a welcome presence and her medical case was indeed a fascinating one.

It was also interesting seeing that Divya wants love. Hell, I do too, Divya. I do too. I’m interested to see how this story goes. I wouldn’t mind Divya with the doctor that was played by Lance Gross. I was pleasantly surprised to see his name in the credits. Perhaps I’ll do a Clacking in Color column on him soon.

Let’s get back on topic, shall we? While I do miss Jill, Paige has been cool to have around. I liked the twist involving the real reason she was hired as an artist overseas — the lesbian director wanted to sleep with her! Nice. Also nice was Hank and the pretty doctor that helped him save the matchmaker’s life. So, are we supposed to forget about Jill? Hmph. That remains to be seen.

And while you’re pondering that, let us also think about Boris and his real intentions involving the mysterious man that was shot on his grounds. What’s up with that? I’d like to read your theories. We have a few other things to think about too. For starters, what is Divya’s father going to do when he finds out that his wife is siding with Divya? Will Hank really loosen up when it comes to giving Evan more control with HankMed? What is this mysterious proposal that Boris has for Hank? And will it ever rain in the Hamptons? Inquiring minds want to know! Feel free to sound off in the comments below!
