Happy, happy Halloween … Silver Shamrock!

Today is Halloween and our month-long celebration comes to a close. Miss something along the way? Here's a brief recap. We know what scares you!

Well, kids, today is the big day! It’s Halloween! Time to gather ’round the TV and partake in some of the finest … or not so great, if you’re into that … movies to send some chills up and down your spine, give you the creeps, make you laugh or make you scream. That’s what’s great about Halloween — you can watch something scary, but the scares can come with some laughs too. Of course, tonight is the perfect night to watch John Carpenter‘s classic, that grandfather of the modern slasher film, the movie that introduced us to the faceless killer, the movie that made faceless killers synonymous with Halloween.

If you’re adventurous, you could also check out Carpenter’s idea for continuing the Halloween series without relying on making endless sequels to his original two Michael Meyers movies, Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Unfortunately, with Halloween in the title and the absence of Michael Meyers, Season of the Witch was given the equivalent of a rock in its bag by audiences even though it does have some pretty disturbing and creepy stuff going on. It does go off the rails a bit, but I still admire Carpenter for trying to make the Halloween movies about something more than just Michael Meyers. Unfortunately, box office talks and that’s why we ended up with in increasingly inferior sequels.

But, if neither of those movies are your cup of tea, have a look back at some of the highlights from CliqueClack Flicks’ 31 Days of Halloween:

Of course, this is just scratching the surface of our month-long tribute to our favorite holiday, so feel free to poke around in the darkened corners of CliqueClack Flicks and you must be pleasantly surprised by what you might find … just remember to always keep looking over your shoulder. You never know what might go bump in the night.

Happy Halloween from all of us at CliqueClack Flicks!

Worst of the Halloween franchise. What were they thinking?

Fraidy Cat a la Tom & Jerry is priceless entertainment.
