This is arguably spider-man’s worst representation in any media, period. He’s not smart in this show, is cocky and brash even as peter parker, and the plots? Well there are none. Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends hasn’t aged too well, but it’s light years ahead of this garbage. 90’s Spider-man and Spectacular are spinning in their graves.

I can not argue that fact.

Personally, I think the breaking the 4th wall, chibi style and everything else is perfectly evocative of the wise-cracking Spider-Man that’s always been in the comics. To me, this series has felt like the first real representation of what I’ve read.

I’m torn on the whole team thing, especially with no Firestar or Iceman (Or even Ms. Lion!), but hey, it works well enough.

I just wish they’d make it clear whether it’s the same universe as the Avengers cartoon or not. Unless I missed something.
