Ralph Garmin is hilarious.

I’d drop Girl on Guy and put The Smartest Man in the World w/ Greg Proops in my top five. Honorable mention would go to You Made it Weird w/ Pete Holmes.

I could never get into Nerdist and I’ve never heard of Girl on Guy, but I am 100% with you on the others. Doug Loves Movies is fun on road trips. WTF is the most like a traditional radio show just for the fact that Maron is bringing on guests to do semi-formal interviews each ep, but the personality he brings to those interviews is what makes the show so mind-blowing. Mike Birbiglia, Louis CK, Michael Ian Black, Gallagher, Dane Cook. Terry Gross at her best has never been so personally involved in an interview. The original Smodcast with just Scott and Kevin sitting in a room talking is probably the best podcast of all time. But Tell ‘em Steve Dave is the most profound of all of these podcasts. Your pull-quote about Walt really says it all. Quinn and Ming are fine and funny, but the humanity on display with Bryan and Walt give the show an unmatched depth–amid all of the dick jokes. What an incredible show that is. It gets pretty slow and pretty heavy sometimes, so I’ve actually had to take breaks from it, but I’ve found it is one that I like to listen to when I am on the road for work. That Bryan / Walt relationship is so rich and palpable, even when discussing the most random of topics from Christmas traditions to serial killers, that it somehow functions as a cure for homesickness. I’ll build up a back-log of 5-10 when I know I have a trip coming up. Good stuff. I think I heard the episode you were on, by the way. Did your boyfriend hear that you went out with Q? I’m also a big fan of Film Junk. And Pete Holmes’ You Made It Weird can grow on you if you like Doug Loves Movies and WTF.

I highly recommend checking out Greg Proops and his Vodkast ‘The Smartest Man in the World”. Also since you like Scott Mosier, he does a podcast called FEaB w/ Nerdist’s Matt Mira and it is as fun as you think it is.

It’s always nice to find a new resource for comedy podcasts. I still have to check out Girl on Guy with Aisha Tyler. Check out our list of the best comedy podcasts.

Walt is the greatest man podcasting sort of against his will. Unfortunately since Kevin Smith’s started smoking a ton of weed smodcast’s kinda fallen apart.

The only other podcast I can recommend is The Big 3. It basically revolves around 2 of the hosts (Both comics) making fun of the third about being gay, a Jehova’s witness, and faking injury to get disability payments from the government. So funny because he’s a massive homophobe, not that smart, kinda slimy, incredibly self-centered, and has anger issues – he makes it hard to feel sorry for him no matter how much abuse they lay on him.

He’s had dozens of amazing voice over actors on his podcast and the impressions alone are hilarious. The best part is that the voice over community is so tightknit in LA that every episode feels like Rob is talking to one of his best friends. Highly recommend.
