Yessirree, Bob, your Main Clack is back with all the news that’s fit to type on those wild and wacky reality shows. Oh, geez. Sometimes I make myself ill when I wax all poetic and all that stuff. And … who’s Bob? Are we talking Sassone or Degon here or just your plain old Bob on the street? Or, could it be that Bob’s your uncle? I just don’t know. But I know my reality television.
While the reality heavy-hitter American Idol isn’t on during the fall season, there are still many going strong in the genre as we head towards the end of the biggest reality show out there — the Presidential elections. Nope, I won’t be reporting on that show. But I predict one of them will get the boot in a few weeks!
That Was the Week It Was
Good-looking chef boy Rocco DiSpirito got the boot before Cloris Leachman on Dancing With the Stars. Who woulda thunk it? The quirky Cloris stepped up her game last week, shed her jester act and actually proved she can dance. Oh no, she’s still not of the caliber she needs to be for a win. But I hate to admit it … she dances better than I do. And I’m just a few decades younger. Er, well … quite a few. It’s a good thing Rocco has his own reality show, Rocco Gets Real, over there on A&E. He has his cookbooks and good looks too. But an 82-year-old has beaten him on DWIT. Pardon me while I snicker.
Last week was also the big finale for Project Runway and the last time we’ll see a fresh season of runway drama on Bravo. Its move to Lifetime TV seems a bit rocky, but it will get there. Leanne Marshall took home the big money and the career prospects which go hand-in-hand. This season was the highest rated season ever for the show with a crowd of seven million tuning into the finale.
Us Magazine is reporting that The Hills bimbos women starlets in their own minds, Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag, are friends once again after a long feud. Wow. Now the world is safe for democracy, eh? Now I can sleep at night.

American Idol contestant Nikki McKibbin spilled her inner demon beans to MTV. She got drunk on tequila for her first audition and it all just kept going from there. Fighting depression, she doesn’t blame Simon Cowell. Well, she shouldn’t. Maybe that kid Simon referred to as a “bush baby” could have a case. Although Simon was a bit harsh with her, doing cocaine and hard-hitting liquor isn’t the answer. Yes, we can expect to see Nikki on an upcoming episode of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. Of course, I’d have to be committed to a psych ward if I ever even considered going on the show!
Until next week, it’s been real. Maybe not reality, though.
