Heroes – It’s Coming – Live-blogging

Heroes

Hello, again. We’re back with our liveblog of Heroes. So… last week’s episode was pretty crazy, right? I really hated how they stuck Elle in there and had her kind of start Sylar on his killing spree, but maybe that’s just me. Anyway, this week we’ve got what promises to be a juicy confrontation between Sylar and Elle at Pinehearst. Also, Arthur Petrelli continues to work hard to win his “worst father of the year” award. This time, he’s trying to kill Peter and Claire instead of Nathan. It sounds like a good episode, let’s see how the actual execution is.

Kona Gallagher:  Okay, we’re back with our Heroes liveblog.
9:02
Kona Gallagher:  Ando is adorable when he tries to make a difference.
9:03
Kona Gallagher:  Oh no, Hiro’s love of waffles have made him forget his powers!
9:04
Kona Gallagher:  Luckily Ando was able to blink for him and transport them to a bowling alley in Tokyo, where they apparently serve chicken and waffles.
9:04
Kona Gallagher:  It looks like Arthur erased all of Hiro’s memories from the age of 10 until the present.
9:05
Kona Gallagher:  Oh no. Arthur tells Gabriel it’s time for him to start acting like his father. I’m pretty sure that means Arthur is going to kill him now.
9:06
Kona Gallagher:  So… Elle isn’t too psyched about reuniting with Sylar.
9:06
[Comment From Jane Boursaw]
Hey Kona!
9:06
Kona Gallagher:  Hey Jane! Thanks for stopping by.
9:07
Jane Boursaw:  Too bad about Hiro’s memory.
9:08
Kona Gallagher:  Yeah. I think it’s a little suspect that Ando can just squeeze Hiro’s eyes shut and make them transport places.
9:10
Jane Boursaw:  yeah, that seemed weird
9:10
Kona Gallagher:  Ooh, watch out. Claire has a plan.
9:11
Kona Gallagher:  I never get tired of watching Claire hurl herself off of buildings.
9:11
Jane Boursaw:  I know… I know she’s indestructible, but those leaps still get me
9:12
Kona Gallagher:  Pfft. Cocoon-spinning Suresh wouldn’t be all upset about experimenting on people.
9:13
Jane Boursaw:  yeah, that’s weird. How did he go from that to this?
9:13
Kona Gallagher:  I don’t know. Maybe Aurthur will end up in a cocoon.
9:14
Kona Gallagher:  So Sylar seems to be offering himself up to be punished by Elle, since she “deserves vengeance.” I didn’t like how they set up this relationship, but it’s pretty interesting now.
9:15
Kona Gallagher:  What kind of crazy mind kung-fu did Angela just do to Matt?
9:15
Kona Gallagher:  Brush your hair, Daphne!
9:15
Jane Boursaw:  That bugs me, too. I guess it’s from speeding around all the time.
9:16
Kona Gallagher:  That would only work for me if her makeup was smeared and crazy looking. Then it would be funny.
9:16
Kona Gallagher:  Ha. I like how Peter isn’t so much trying to protect Claire, as trying to get her not to shoot his ass.
9:17
Jane Boursaw:  It’s definitely a weird mind-twist
9:18
Kona Gallagher:  …and she’s still not leaving because she wants to return the favor for saving her (by shooting him?)
9:18
Kona Gallagher:  But it looks like they want her anyway. Perhaps to complete Suresh’s formula?
9:19
Jane Boursaw:  Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking, too. Soooo, the bad guys (and Arthur) are working with Suresh…or something…
9:20
Kona Gallagher:  Maybe the brother became an agent after all.
9:21
Jane Boursaw:  I missed the first few seconds – which time era are we in now? Is this the “current” time?
9:21
Kona Gallagher:  I believe so.
9:22
Kona Gallagher:  There is a lot of plastic food on that table.
9:23
Kona Gallagher:  Aw, Hiro slowed down time by making his cheeks wobble.
9:23
Jane Boursaw:  And he’s geeked about it. He’s such a kid.
9:24
Jane Boursaw:  That plastic food is making me hungry
9:24
Kona Gallagher:  me too
9:24
Kona Gallagher:  Oh no. Now Matt has to work through his daddy issues before he can help Angela.
9:26
Jane Boursaw:  This is some weird kind of foreplay :-)
9:26
Kona Gallagher:  Even though he is invincible, I still think this is a nice gesture on Sylar’s part.
9:26
Kona Gallagher:  Yeah, it’s oddly hot, though.
9:26
Kona Gallagher:  …and now they kiss.
9:27
Kona Gallagher:  Okay, not really. But he’s certainly not going to kill her.
9:27
[Comment From Bob Sassone]
This episode is kinda annoying, heh.
9:27
Kona Gallagher:  Hey Bob.
9:27
Jane Boursaw:  completely annoying. Hi, Bob.
9:27
Kona Gallagher:  I like it a lot better than last week’s. That really bugged me for some reason.
9:28
Bob Sassone:  I think some of the storylines were inconsistent with the first season in last week’s ep, but this episode is just tedious…how many more scenes do we have to see Sylar getting shocked?
9:30
Kona Gallagher:  I’m okay with a few more!
9:30
Jane Boursaw:  I’d like there to be a shock-kiss in there somewhere
9:30
Kona Gallagher:  Last week the whole Elle thing seemed completley fake and shoehorned into the plot.
9:30
Kona Gallagher:  Heh.
9:30
Kona Gallagher:  So what do you think about Rosie O’Donnell’s new show?
9:31
Kona Gallagher:  I’m curious.
9:31
Jane Boursaw:  I dunno…
9:31
Kona Gallagher:  Now Nathan’s dealing with daddy issues. What is this, Lost?
9:32
[Comment From Bob Degon]
I wish
9:32
Kona Gallagher:  Hey Bob!
9:32
Kona Gallagher:  What is Nathan’s role in all of this? To be killed?
9:33
Kona Gallagher:  Because that seems to be the role Arthur thinks everyone should have.
9:33
Jane Boursaw:  And why is Niki all chummy with Arthur?
9:33
Bob Sassone:  Come give your father a hug…
9:34
Kona Gallagher:  Ooh, now he’s playing favorites (to kill).
9:34
Kona Gallagher:  I’m okay with shirtless Sylar. Just for the record.
9:35
Kona Gallagher:  Sylar and Elle work out their daddy and mommy issues. Two for one!
9:36
Bob Sassone:  Oh for God’s sake do something…split her head open, have sex, get out a deck of cards…ANYTHING!!
9:36
Kona Gallagher:  Ah, he just stole her power in a very non-dramatic fashion.
9:36
Bob Degon:  Did he just pyschoanalyze her powers out of her?
9:36
Jane Boursaw:  oh the drama
9:36
Bob Sassone:  How did he do that? Did I miss something?
9:36
Kona Gallagher:  He Dr. Phil’d her powers out of her.
9:37
Jane Boursaw:  Oh for gosh sakes…
9:38
Bob Degon:  Anyone remember when this show used to be good?
9:38
Bob Sassone:  I still like it, but this episode is really all over the place and boring
9:39
Bob Degon:  I feel that way about this whole season so far.
9:39
Kona Gallagher:  I was thinking about that earlier today. I really liked the whole arc of the first season, when it was how ordinary people dealt with extraordinary abilities.
9:39
Bob Degon:  I just want the magic of season one back.
9:39
Kona Gallagher:  They’ve gotten away from that, and it’s unfortunate.
9:39
Kona Gallagher:  I liked seeing Claire in school, and Matt on the job. Stuff like that.
9:40
Bob Degon:  NBC is wasting advertisement space on My Own Worst Enemy. Interesting
9:40
Bob Sassone:  Yes, come watch My Own Worst Enemy tonight, because we’ve canceled it
9:40
Kona Gallagher:  I love how they’re still promoting the canceled My Own Worst Enemy
9:40
Kona Gallagher:  heh
9:40
Bob Sassone:  One less story I have to keep track of, heh
9:40
Kona Gallagher:  I didn’t realize it was doing so badly until I read that it was canceled.
9:41
Kona Gallagher:  It wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t that good either, but it wasn’t terrible.
9:41
Bob Degon:  Agreed
9:42
Kona Gallagher:  Wait, so she still has her power?
9:42
Bob Sassone:  Huh? They both have the power?
9:42
Kona Gallagher:  Are they sharing it?
9:42
Jane Boursaw:  Kiss, dammit!
9:43
Kona Gallagher:  Ooh, she’s getting close….
9:43
Bob Sassone:  Oh this scene is painful
9:43
Bob Degon:  How soon she forgets that he’s not sorry for murdering her dad
9:43
Kona Gallagher:  Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!
9:43
Kona Gallagher:  Eh, her dad was kind of a jerk.
9:43
Jane Boursaw:  Talk about a peeping arthur…
9:43
Kona Gallagher:  So if Hiro could go anywhere in the world, he’d go behind Ando? Interesting.
9:44
Jane Boursaw:  Bro.Mance
9:44
Bob Sassone:  I’m beginning to hate Hiro’s story too…why do they always give him these goofy situation? Lost in time, lost in Africa, now lost in general
9:44
Kona Gallagher:  It’s completely extraneous.
9:44
Kona Gallagher:  So Arthur’s plan is to give half the world powers?
9:45
Jane Boursaw:  i wonder if Nathan leaves a chemtrail
9:45
Bob Degon:  I love that Nathan leaves a vapor trail when he flies.
9:46
Kona Gallagher:  Yeah, it’s not very subtle. Do people really not notice this?
9:47
Jane Boursaw:  Which side is Niki on again?
9:47
Kona Gallagher:  no idea.
9:47
Bob Sassone:  You mean Tracy, heh
9:48
Jane Boursaw:  Whatever. I can’t keep track of who’s who. :-)
9:48
Kona Gallagher:  Cool Daphne totally stabbed him.
9:49
Kona Gallagher:  This is clearly meant to be.
9:49
Bob Degon:  These two “pretend” kill each other every episode now
9:49
Jane Boursaw:  That’s some mind-meld
9:49
Bob Sassone:  So did I see a commercial earlier where they said that the hero that viewers voted for was…a soccer player??
9:53
Kona Gallagher:  Now Daphne’s telling Matt that he cares about him?
9:53
Kona Gallagher:  This episode is so touchy-feely.
9:54
Jane Boursaw:  very esoteric
9:55
Kona Gallagher:  Okay, so Angela is free and Matt’s stab-wound is healed.
9:55
Bob Degon:  So… if someone thinks “I’m telling the truth” it means they’re not lying?
9:56
Bob Degon:  Or is Matt just an idiot?
9:56
Jane Boursaw:  Suresh is looking more like Wolverine all the time
9:57
Kona Gallagher:  Oh, Hiro’s comic book! How I’ve missed it.
9:57
Bob Sassone:  I wonder if the comic book predicted the two producers being fired?
9:58
Kona Gallagher:  “But whatever it is, it doesn’t sound good.” Next week’s episode?
9:58
Jane Boursaw:  Can the comic book save the show?
9:58
Bob Degon:  Bob, I think the ratings predicted that
9:58
Bob Sassone:  Well, at least all of the heroes are coming together
9:58
Kona Gallagher:  Yeah, that’s nice.
9:58
Kona Gallagher:  So is Claire the catalyst, or is Hiro?
9:58
Bob Sassone:  Kaito as we know is dead…how do they know that?
9:59
Kona Gallagher:  Claire, right?
9:59
Bob Degon:  She think so
9:59
Bob Sassone:  that’s probably why the two henchman were after her
10:00
Bob Sassone:  so are those the two teams?
10:00
Jane Boursaw:  hmmm…interesting…
10:00
Kona Gallagher:  ASo they lose all of their powers next week?
10:00
Bob Sassone:  “Everything’s going to change today…” Is Obama coming on the show?
10:01
Kona Gallagher:  Ooh, what would his power be?
10:01
Jane Boursaw:  i don’t know, but he should definitely get a cape
10:01
Kona Gallagher:  Wow, that is really poor tattoo-coverup on Christian Slater. No wonder they canceled this show.
10:02
Kona Gallagher:  Anyway, thanks for coming guys! See you next week!
10:02
Jane Boursaw:  Thanks, Kona!

I must be getting disillusioned with the show, because I was not impressed with this episode. I thought the big reveal about Claire’s specialness was anticlimactic.

Was it a definitive reveal or just a guess? Maybe she isn’t the catalyst.
