24: Redemption – Jack does the Lord’s work

Ooh, those bad guys picked the wrong school to go after. They had no idea what they were getting into, and when they drove into the school and Jack knew they were headed that way, my son and I were whooping it up but good with “Bring it!” and “You wanna torture Jack? Get in line, and good luck with that!”

Executive producer Brian Grazer and everyone else involved did a fine job with this movie, setting us up for the new season premiering in January. We’ve got the outgoing President Daniels, the incoming President Taylor, and bad guy Jon Voight who’s got his hands deep in the impending civil war in Africa, where Jack’s been keeping a low profile helping his buddy’s orphanage.

Of course, even while keeping a low profile, he’s still a rogue agent, ducking the subpoenas for all the killing and torturing he’s done (in the name of peace, of course). But being Jack, he was willing to turn himself in to save the kids (awwww…).

It’s a great set-up, and we can’t wait to dig into season 7. Did I mention how much fun it was seeing Jack take out the bad guys again?

I’m just sorry his buddy Carl didn’t make it through the episode, but then again, you’ve gotta have at least one dramatic death, right? Poor Jack. No matter where he goes or what he does, those closest to him end up dying.

Your thoughts? Are you looking forward to season 7?

Loved seeing the camera man when Jack and the boys are trying to escape into the trees – around 9:30 you can clearly see a camera man dressed in black and another guy standing there. My family and I thought it was hilarious that they had all this extra time to film this and edit it and they left that guy in.

CAN’T WAIT till Season 7 – already have it on the calendar.

This season doesn’t look that promising to me. I was hoping the President would be Daniels and now they’re getting rid of him. The new President looks boring and dull. I don’t really care about watching Jack of the Jungle. I was hoping for a better storyline. I’ll still watch, but I’m not optimistic about this season. The only bright spot for me is Tony Almeida coming back. Other than Tony and Jack, the rest of the cast does nothing for me.

At least Redemption wasn’t as absurd as Season 6. It didn’t really feel like 24 – probably because it was only 2 hours. The setup was good though, so it should be interesting to see how it all goes down come January.

I felt it was too short in action, I know they had to start building up the next’s season plot, but it could have been better if they used this movie to show us the return of the bad-ass we know Jack Bauer is, with more dangerous and fight scenes, after all we must wait till january and most ppl will get lost with the plot.

anyway, does any body else felt it was a little too much for a product placement with the Hyundai Genesis?
