OK, whether you like it or not, something is going on here. Grey’s Anatomy‘s Izzie has been seeing Denny for too many episodes too ignore.
Sure, it was cute at first, and so nice to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan again, but now things are getting serious. Don’t get me wrong — I have adored every moment of Izzie and Denny on-screen this season, and I will be sad when this storyline finally comes to some resolution, but I see foreshadowing of the worst kind.
There have been rumors abounding that Izzie has a brain tumor and is going to be killed off the show. Earlier this week, Ausiello put those rumors to rest when he talked with Shonda Rhimes herself, who assured us Izzie does not have a brain tumor.
I still worry, though. Yes, I agree this is an interesting love triangle, and maybe it is just a unique way to play out the fact that it is hard for anyone to move on to a relationship with a live person when they are still so in love with the person they have lost to death. That would be clever, never done before in this way (that I know of) and I’d be satisfied with that.
In the back of my head, though, is Bob’s idea that Katherine Heigl is on her way to a not-so-successful movie career, and to do that she’d need to leave Grey’s. If they aren’t going to kill her off with a brain tumor, will they have her in a pink-padded cell, with the possibility of coming back to Grey’s, sane again, when her movie career inevitably bottoms out?
What do you think? Is Heigl really trying to get out of her contract and leave Grey’s Anatomy? How would you feel about that?

Don’t get me wrong I love Greys Anatomy and I love Katherine Heigl but didnt she try to pull this same type of thing back in the days of Roswell (RIP I loved that show) She needs to learn to appreciate the shows that made her famous instead of trying to leave them. Her fans deserve better.
I hope they wrap up this whole Denny storyline sooner rather than later. these are the only scenes that i have a strong desire to fast forward through. (i have stopped myself so far) I am ready for him to fade away so that Izzie can finally be with Alex. And what happened to her friendship with George? is that gone forever?
She didn’t try and pull the same sort of thing during Roswell from what I recall – she was one of only a few cast members not to be reprimanded by the producers and reminded of their contractual obligations when it switched to UPN at the end of 2 struggling seasons on the WB. Like all of the cast she was not keen on having to do another season but Melissa you sort of make it sound like she was the only one.
Her fans do deserve better which is why most seem to want to see her making movies and not being given such ridiculous story lines on Grey’s Anatomy. To suggest she doesn’t appreciate the show that made her famous is ridiculous. Just because you work somewhere does not mean you should not look to move on and improve or do other things. Do you stay in your current job because you appreciate your bosses? If something better came a long would you stay out of love? The heck you would. Get real.
According to reports she is on what $200k an episode for Grey’s..so 24 episodes would be $4.8 million. That is for 9 months of work where she can’t do anything else. She is on $6 million per movie for 2 months work. I know what I’d be screaming to do in her shoes.
It probably wouldn’t be so bad either if she felt she was getting good material. I think she made it pretty clear she was unhappy with her lot last year – and who can blame her. The fact is she is Grey’s biggest star by a mile and if they aren’t going to give her something decent she is better of elsewhere.
I think if KH leaves it would make TOTAL SENSE that they do it this way, she’s sick or something (maybe not a brain tumor, just something else) and Denny is here to take her with him.If KH has to go I can’t think of a better, more romantic and more ‘Izzie like way’ to go. If she’s staying, I’m still happy to see Denny. The guy is gorgeous and their relationship is pure love and magic – I think they were very much in love and suddenly he died. I think all that post-traumatic something had to show up at some point in time and this is it. I think it’s because now she feels something for someone else, for Alex, and that’s why he’s appearing. When you are in love with someone, who by the way you were going to marry, and he just dies, I don’t think it’s that easy to get over. I was surprised that she was fine after a while, so I’m liking that she sees him again, and that she can touch him… once more. Isn’t that what many people dream to do with those they lost?
I think the storyline is poetic, original and beautiful.
And anyway, he’s dead and he won’t be around for long, so lets just relax, sit back and enjoy Denny and his great smile. In the end he will go and all Izzie-Alex fans can be happy again plus if not, it’s coz KH is leaving in which case, as previously mentioned, I think it’s great that she leaves with the great love of her life.
