Yeah, yeah, I know, there have been countless articles and posts about potential Smallville spinoffs over the years. There were talks of spinoffs for Supergirl, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and the Flash. The CW series also had the TV powers that be even ponder shows about a young Dick Grayson and other comic superheroes due to Smallville‘s success.
Rumors of Smallville spinoffs have died down lately, but in the light of last week’s episode, “Legion,” maybe it’s time to revive them a bit, shall we?
Even if we are fans of the show, many of us think this should be Smallville‘s last season so it goes out with a bang — maybe with Clark wearing tights and flying? If The CW does decide to end the series this season, what could replace it in its lineup? Yes, I agree, Reaper should get the timeslot before Supernatural every Thursday but the network does have space for another super heroes-type of series. Could The Legion of Superheroes be the next idea they give a try?
Let’s face it, we love our superheroes and prequels are still ‘in’. So how about a series that centers around the creation of the Legion by Lighting Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy? Not only would it offer infinite possibilities of superheroes and bad guys (be it from the comic books or created by the show’s writers) but it would also headline teens — the versions we saw in last week’s Smallville episode — making it appealing to teens and giving us the ‘prequel’ feel. Tom Welling could even guest star here and there as Superman! Okay, the latter may never happen but still a series about The Legion could be worth a look.

Hell Ya I’d watch….I’ve been talking for a few years about loving to see something perhaps even titled Justice League and keep some current stars and characters. I’ve just found the whole forum thing and this is the first one I’ve been to so this is likely an old topic but..I’d watch any of this continue in some fashion. There has to be an element of groundedness though and Smallville is just hanging in there on that but coming close sometimes. And I do agree that Reaper would fit nicely in there…it has matured into a very interesting show for me..love the whole demons and the devils son thing…room for some good stuff there.
I would totally like to c a LEGION spin off searies. It would be a great replacement for SMALLVILLE if the creators do decide to cancel which frankly after eight seasons, it should go out with the high that it has so far. And may I just add the whole CHLOE healing thing that wuz kickass it wuz bullshit they didnt go farther with it, and I also wanted to c more with LOIS and her also kicking way more ass and also b aware of the secret TTFN.
