Two bitches, so little time. When Nick and Jenny respectively left the show, their names were immediately excised from the credits. And yet, week after week, there we saw Juliet Aubrey’s name. So we knew Helen Cutter was still out there.
Considering she’s been at the center of the anomalies since the beginning, I think we knew we weren’t done with her yet … at least until we’re done with her. My guess is next week’s finale, especially considering the fact that the show’s canceled in the UK after this third season. At least there’s hope of a film and/or spinoff.Christine Johnson was an ambitious bitch, for sure, but I still have a hard time believing that Helen has the best intentions of humanity in mind. “Gee, Jason. What gave that away? The preview of next week where she was trying to wipe out the ancestors of mankind?” Well … yeah.
After all the trouble Johnson was causing Lester, I guess I didn’t expect her to be eliminated so abruptly. Then again, we’ve had cast members dropping like flies for weeks now so I shouldn’t really be surprised. We’ll probably lose Helen next week, but that would actually be okay with me. Her story needs to get wrapped up.
Primeval has always ran a balance of the larger ARC storylines along with the anomaly of the week saga, but for some reason I found myself getting bored with the rhino herd. At least up to the point where Eve/Helen pulled out her fancy little anomaly maker and sent the herd home. Or considering it’s Helen, she may have sent them somewhere else.
I was a little disappointed that the Connor-Abby connection was put on the back burner again. And considering that the creators didn’t know the series was going to be ending with next week’s season finale, I’ll bet they aren’t firmly united by the end of that episode either.
Other than Helen, the connection growing between Connor and Abby has been the only thread that’s connected all three seasons of Primeval, so some closure on that would be appreciated. Helen closure looks promised with the way the gang is looking to go after her at the end of this one.
I’m really going to miss this show. I’ve enjoyed this season far more than I expected, given the cast shake-up. It could have easily had another year run. That bitch Helen gets to stay on until the end kind of pisses me off, and I hope she goes out with a thud.
Connor and Abby have been so fun to watch. At least we all know they are totally into each other. If we don’t get any meat on their storyline, I can create my own for their ride into the sunset. At some point, they will be running the ARC. Squabbling, kissing, anomaly chasing couple of the future.
I don’t share the same fondness for the Connor-Abby storyline … at least not the way it has been implemented. Connor has endangered all of mankind on numerous occasions with his acts of insubordination and criminal negligence, mostly arising from his pursuit of Abby. His little crush stopped being cute to me a long time ago, and he should have been fired, if not jailed, by now for his behavior.
TOTALLY AGREE! well, with everyone except bob. primeval was, and is, my favorite show of all time. it sucks that the production team didn’t know the show would be axed or the finale wouldn’t have left us with more questions than answers. as for connor and abby, love ‘em! wish we coulda seen them finally a confirmed pair. let’s just hope we get those answers in one form or another. oh, and that they don’t bring the show back but with a complete new cast! connor and abby 4 life =]=]
