Only three more times (including this week) to enter the Get South Park‘d contest, and above’s your hint for where this week’s alien is hiding out. Have you found them all so far? Make sure you let us know if you get picked when the time comes!
This week South Park covered a topic that we all knew was coming sooner or later: Cartman as Rush Limbaugh (or was it Glenn Beck…? I don’t keep up with political crap). Then, of course, there had to be a president for Cartman to shit all over, and that would of course be class president Wendy Testaburger. But all of that wasn’t as funny as the first five minutes of the episode, as poor Gordon Stoltski was brutally murdered over the school intercom:
“Then how come Gordon Stoltski got to go on for like five minutes that one day?” – Cartman
“Well, because he was being murdered.” – Mr. Mackey
Hey, what do you expect — he was a ginger kid!
The next best part of the episode was clearly the big dig at James Cameron’s upcoming movie, Avatar, basically coming right out and calling the alien/avatar on the movie poster a big Smurf. They also ripped the movie for basically ripping off from past, similar stories. Parker and Stone really have it out for Cameron, don’t they?
Honestly, there have been better episodes this season. Eh, maybe I’m just sore that they went and mutilated Smurfette on me. Those bastards!
I actually loved this episode. Compared to the quality of episodes the last few weeks, I thought this was really good. I couldn’t stop laughing the first five minutes when Gordon was being murdered (the kid’s faces were priceless throughout).
The guy being parodied by Cartman was Glenn Beck (the hair style on him is almost identical to Beck’s when compared side-by-side). The storyline was actually really funny to an extent (especially Butters’ role as the leader of kids against Wendy).
I have found all the aliens to date, but this one, although it was a real alien, was actually pretty tricky given the light spectrum on it. I had to watch it a second time to get it, but it was worth it (unlike last week’s, which I watched repeatedly until 3 AM to find only to be royally pissed off at the placement).
This episode was great. Butter urinating on the house, smurficide, Stoltski. Good stuff.
