Dancing with the Stars – Seven bad little dancers gone. Five good little dancers left.

The new challenge of an "Instant Dance" was added to this week's episode of 'Dancing With the Stars.' Some people rose to the occasion, some didn't. And Maks yelled at Carrie Ann!

- Season 11, Episode 15 - "Season 11, Episode 15"

Well. I think that now that we’re down to the last five couples on Dancing With the Stars, it’s only fair that I start looking at them one by one. Each couple performed the traditional individual dance this week, as well as an “instant dance,” a new concept the show was trying out for the first time. Then the scores were combined, with the best possible being a perfect sixty.

The “instant dance” was an interesting idea, stemming from the fact that in a “real” ballroom competition, the dancers are aware of the type of dance they will be doing, but not the music to which they must move. Judges speculation was that this could really throw the celebrities off, as they would have to rely more on timing and counting during their routines, than using the music as a “crutch” to remember their steps by. So after each individual routine, the celebs picked a CD at random, and had about twenty minutes to tailor their routine to fit the music. Those nutty DWTS producers! Always throwing a new wrench in the mix!

So let’s have a hot cocoa (there’s never a bad time for a hot cocoa) and break it down …

Kyle and Lacey: Kyle is cute as a bug, don’t get me wrong. He’s definitely a crowd pleaser, and he improves week by week. But! I don’t see him beating Brandy or Jennifer, unless Jennifer is forced to drop out of the competition due to injury. Kyle has a feisty partner in Lacey Schwimmer (yes, she is related to David Schwimmer). Lacey likes to yell a lot and call Kyle an idiot, but he just laughs her off and says she acts like “an angry little baby.” (True.)

This week, Kyle did a very respectable Viennese Waltz, and for his instant dance, he got the crowd jiving with his jive. Len’s right, he lacks finesse, and he better get it soon. Brandy and Jennifer have finesse in spades.

Jennifer and Derek: Are my favorites, as you know if you’ve been reading along on this dancing journey of mine. If you haven’t, go back and read some of my thoughts, because I hate repeating myself. Suffice it to say, they’re fabulous. In the instant dance tonight, they received the first perfect score of the season (that I can recall). She’s beautiful to watch, and I myself got an extra bonus tonight, when her father Joel Grey appeared at her rehearsal. It’s easy to see where she gets her talent.

Kurt and Anna: Bug me. He should have been gone a few shows back, in my opinion. His legs are noodlish (a new technical term), his arms and hands are always robotic. O.K. he’s nice looking Carrie Ann, but does that really have anything to do with anything?

The crowd really likes this guy though. They booed the judges scoring, which I thought was ridiculous. He deserved those low scores. Sigh.

Bristol and Mark: The judges are so incredibly nice to Bristol, it’s almost like they think she’ll crumble on the floor and die if they tell her the truth. And that wouldn’t happen, as she is incapable of making most facial expressions.

Bristol is not a good dancer and should be putting her snowshoes on for her trip back to Alaska. I’ve said this for a few weeks now, and I’m getting a bit frustrated at her surviving week after week. Of course, the speculation here being that fans of her Mother, Sarah Palin, are having an undue influence. Oh, who knows and who cares at this point? (I think I’m a bit crabby and hormonal today. Please excuse me.)

Brandy and Maks: I enjoyed Maks’ verbal sparing with Carrie Ann tonight. He’s really the only professional who speaks up to the judges, and boy he had a lot to say. Apparantely, his big beef is that the professionals are working their butts off season after season and being overlooked. He actually was ready to rant farther about this backstage, until he got cut off. I think it was a reaction to Carrie Ann criticizing his choreography. Maks doesn’t like criticism. (Translation: he’s scary.)

So. In a perfect world, Bristol will be leaving this week. In reality, it’s probably Kurt. This one doesn’t matter much to me, as long as it’s one of them, and not another major upset a la Audrina Patridge.

Who do you think should go?

I cannot help but to think of the song: The Bristol Stomp…when Bristol takes the dance floor. Child..it is more like a stomp then a dance. I am pulling for Jennifer and Derek myself.

I think Kurt will go home, but as long as it’s either him or Bristol, I’m gonna be ok. Now if they send Kyle home, I will be UPset! Maybe I should have voted…

Still rooting for Jennifer to make it to the end. From things she said to Brooke last night, she plans on pushing through, so I hope it all works out for her!

Sorry but I can’t agree with you regarding Bristol. I get really frustrated with this show because they put entertainers on there that obviously have experience in dancing in some form or other. Brandy and Jennifer are this type. Kyle and Bristol both have no experience and I think are doing pretty darn well considering. Bristol in particular is not an entertainer. If I were on the show, I would look pale in comparison to the PERFORMERS. I enjoy the show but I wish they would pick people of similar experience. NO DANCERS! I always vote for the underdog.

I didn’t get to watch this week due to this stupid job thing. But I love Maks. I always have. I want to wash my underwear on this abs under a waterfall … or in my shower. The pros do get criticized for stupid stuff. They are working with non-ballroom dancers. They’re not allowed to lift at all (stupid Carrie Ann). God forbid a tootsie lifts up off the ground. The penalize the really good dancers more than the stinky poo-poo ones. Kyle isn’t a good dancer but he’s likable. Bristol, bless her heart, is robotic and probably in fear that she’ll say something and be punished for it later. The playing field is NEVER even regarding the celebs. That being said, I’d rather watch Kurt than Bristol.

So, who got doinked this week?

ARGH! I just looked it up. It’s a shame a stinky dancer is in the final 4. Stupid multiple voters
