Castle and Beckett kissed … they finally did it!

The Castle and Beckett moment that you have been sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for finally happened this week - were you happy with how it happened?

Fans of Castle have been waiting for this moment for seasons now and it finally happened … Castle and Beckett kissed. Was it all that you hoped it would be? So it wasn’t a “real” kiss, but it was enough for me. I mean, they went back for a second kiss, that has to mean something, right? And, the looks they gave each other after the kiss, those were recognition of their feelings for each other, right?

I’m not quite sure. Their true feelings for each other have been more covert than the super secret ops teams that don’t officially exist. As a fan of Castle and a fan of the slow build up of the Castle and Beckett relationship, I am happy with the way their first kiss happened. It was very fitting for their relationship.

The question remains, what happens next? To be honest, I have a feeling it won’t be hinted at for at least a few more episodes. There may be a look here or there, but no actual conversation. And, I think that will work for the show. But, if they end up together sooner rather than later, that’s good too!

If you can’t get enough of the kiss, you can watch that scene over and over again below.

What did you think of how their first kiss happened? Happy with it?

SIGH… Nathan Fillion is one of the best looking kissers on TV. I still remember Firefly.

I LOVED it!!!!! I thought everything about the whole episode was perfect, especially the kiss. I can’t wait to see what they do with the characters next since they so obviously want each other. I’m not expecting them to actually get together anytime soon, but I hope they at least get rid of Dr. Motorcycle Boy asap. He’s hot, but not necessary! :-)

I think this is where Josh proves his usefulness by providing a good reason why Beckett and Castle have to hold back after the kiss. That they are good friends has been building for a while; that they are sexually attracted to each other in a big way is now out there on the table. But it’s too early for them to start dating or even more forward, both for the show and for the characters. Castle has never had the kind of adult relationship Beckett wants and she learned to be cautious around him with her heart (and not dump a good relationship for a chance with him) at the end of last season. They both need to process this some more and be very sure of how they feel before they go forward. After all, a friendship this good isn’t worth sacrificing for a little bedtime.

At any rate, I loved this episode — Kate telling Raglan that Castle is “someone I trust” (development from the end of last season when she learned she shouldn’t trust him); Ryan and Esposito having her back and each other’s; Martha pushing Castle to say it out loud that it’s not just about the books any more; Castle telling Beckett that he’s her partner (in so many ways) and Beckett acknowledging it. The kiss was great, it was a promise (I hope) of things to come, but even without it the character development would have made this a mega-episode.

(Three Kates? That’s a co-incidence. The name was given to me at birth, I swear.)
