No Ordinary Family – Les Powell, la famille diabolique

The Powells pulled some sneaky moves in this episode. And in the end, they set the stage for trouble they can't even begin to conceive.

Know this:

There was one over-riding thing in this episode of No Ordinary Family to make itself clear and keep you cooking ’til next week: the Powells are going to do their darndest to pull the wool of Dr. Dayton King’s eyes.

Now, doesn’t that sound like a whole lotta fun going forward? It does to me.

You see, this show is continuing to hit a stride … a stride — in my opinion — it should have begun from the get-go.

Sure … I understand things need to build sometimes … that they need to evolve, but I don’t think all the dippy-dopiness of NOF had to start out with so much fluff. The writers could have come out swinging way, way, way in the beginning. Why they took so long to do this is anyone’s guess. But here we are cruising along, The Cape in its wake and with things looking up, up, up.

Victoria Morrow is out of the equation. After finding out she was the one tailing his family, Jim ended up in a tussle with her at the Powell abode, Jim coming out on top. It had to hit home he’d killed, something not conveyed too well when all was said and done. But to be fair, he was more worried about the safety of his family than the death of Morrow … I figure. I’m good with that.

Joshua’s a hot mess. He’s confused at this point. He knows he needs juice to continue on given his prolonged dependence, but you can see it in his demeanor, in his befuddlement. He’s still one of the spiffy stories of the show I really enjoy following.

And “tough guy” Stephanie! Well now, here we have a super-powered changling whose super powers don’t include being a changling! Her sham act in convincing Dr. King she’s (the now dead) Victoria — in addition to her story she’s close to finding out everything about The Powells — was pretty jack, wouldn’t you say? Still, how Stephanie is going to continue to pull this off without King becoming wise in short order is yet to be determined.

Now, if No Ordinary Family can keep chugging along at this pace, Season 2 might just come along after all.
