Bleep My Dad Says actor gets his due with The Three Stooges

As far as I'm concerned, Will Sasso gets to slough off the craptastic roll he played on the former CBS show and shine as he did in his 'MAD TV' spots.

When I reviewed Bleep My Dad Says, I continuously sniped about the sad state of affairs involved with the secondary actors relegated to some of the dippiest, dopiest lines and situations.

Well, the tables have definitely turned for Will Sasso (MAD TV) who played William Shatner‘s eldest son on the program. It’s been confirmed not only has Sasso landed the role of Curly on The Three Stooges movie, but he looks pretty damned good in the roll as well.

Yeah, there’s blather in that article about whether or not he can play the part of that most popular Stooge, but it really doesn’t concern me. Between Sasso’s past comedic abilities on MAD TV and his dead-on look as Curly Howard (Jerry Horwitz), it’s simply a matter of training and practice to get him up to speed on doing a spiffy job in the roll.

The more satisfying thing for me is that the guy has landed something with more “meat” to it than the fluff and embarrassment which came with his Bleep My Dad Says part.

Now, here’s the thing with me and The Three Stooges: believe it or don’t, I’m not a huge fan. But it won’t sway me from checking this flick out. My motivation for buying a ticket to the film will be to see what Sasso does with in the part. I hope it will be justification for what came before with BMDS.

That’s my dream for this terrific actor. And I hope he shines.

I was always more a Marx Bros. fan growing up. If the trailers look good for the movie, maybe I’ll give it a look.

. . . . .

I am a monster Marx Bros. fan, Katie. And while I can appreciate The Three Stooges, I was never a big fan of them.

Still … I’ve seen many, many enjoyable moments from The Stooges.

My heart will forever long for “Swordfish” and the secret word, however …

You obviously don’t know much about the Stooges. You reference Sasso’s “dead on look” as Curly? Are you joking? Because he’s balding and obese? Sasso is 6’4, has a completely different hairline and completely different build than Curly did. Curly was a ballroom dancer and very light on his feet. Sasso is a lummox. This terrible bit of casting is exactly why myself and the millions of other Stooge fans will NOT be seeing this movie.

Oh, that and the fact that Sean Hayes as Larry looks like horrible imitation of Carrot Top.

. . . . .

I see you are undecided at this point whether or not you will attend a screening of this film when it premieres, Aaron.

Mayhap the actor playing Moe will sway you.
