South Park – Enter the Matrix … with Jameson

'South Park' is back, and this time they take on the subject of Asperger's and ... ass burgers. Here are some quick thoughts and quotes from the episode.

- Season 15, Episode 8 - "Ass Burgers"

A lot of people were wondering how the season was going to continue from the last episode, with the Marsh’s separating and what looked like Stan moving away. I was actually surprised that things picked right up where we left off, and it took me a minute to remember that Stan was hearing everything “cool” sounding like farts and shit, and the whole duck president angle (which … wasn’t it just a movie?). Instead of taking the plunge and changing the show in a drastic way, everything turned out go back the way it was. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

I half hoped Cartman’s Burgers would last past this episode, but it seems like the jig is up for that business. Onto the next!

“Alright Stan, listen up. We don’t have a lot of time. You’ve been told Asperger’s is real. It isn’t. It’s just a front that we use to stay hidden.” – Doctor
“Wait, it’s not a real illness?” – Stan
“Of course not! If there was a social development disease, you wouldn’t call it ‘Aspberger’s’ — that’s just … that’s just mean.” – Doctor

“Yeah everything used to be awesome and cool, but now everything ‘s gone to shit, and nobody knows except us.” – Patient 1
“Yeah!” – Patient 2
“Because of aliens?” – Stan
“Or genetically-altered humans,whatever, fuck you!” – Doctor

“Try and focus, Stan. We’ve found them. We know where the rock creatures are now.” – Doctor
“The rock creatures?” – Stan
“Or aliens or A.I. … things, whatever, fuck you!” – Doctor

“It’s as if he’s somehow taking all of the ingredients of our food, breaking them down into some kind of gas, and then somehow infusing that gas into his hamburger. What kind of instrument could he be using to do this?” – McDonald’s Guy
“It would have to be some kind of super dutch oven.” – Pizza Hut guy
“But a dutch oven with greater technology than we’ve ever seen.” – Burger King Guy

I don’t think it’s quite back to normal – that ending with the drinking? Metaphor for the creators? All that “or aliens” stuff definitely struck me as Matt & Trey been frustrated at random plot contrivance needs.
