The X Factor – The judges’ houses part two!

Airing on a special night, due to my Tigers losing the pennant (sigh) I hope you didn't miss this episode of 'The X Factor.' The drama at the judges' homes continued. And I have picked some ponies in this race!

- Season 1, Episode 8 - "Judges' Homes, Part 2"

My what a difference a few days and several amoxicillin for strep throat can make in a gal’s life! I looked at part two of The X Factor at the judges’ houses a lot differently tonight. I find I’m much less crabby when I’m not in severe painful distress at every freaking swallow. So! Let me tell you what I saw, and then we can compare notes, as I just know you’re going to leave your thoughts for me in the comments section below. Right? I said right?? Good!

Nicole‘s House: Well. Let’s just say I felt bad for Enrique Iglesias, as Nicole has no idea where her mind is located, much less how to make it up. “Enrique? Do you think he’s a star?” “Enrique, do you feel there’s a market for him?” “Enrique, what am I gonna do?” “Enrique, do you think I have to go to the bathroom?”

OK. That last one was a lie. But it made me laugh.

At Nicole’s house, I am all about Josh Krajcik, otherwise always pumped as the “Slinging Burritos Man.” Yes, he needs a makeover and wash and curl very badly. But, he is the real deal. He actually sang “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” in a way that made me chill. A cornball tune like that? Absolutely! But I hope he hears me screamin’ that he best clean himself up, to show that he really wants this. After all, one does not show up for a five million dollar job interview looking like one has slept in one’s clothes! Puh-leeze! Seriously. It doesn’t matter how talented you are, sad fact is you have to look the part in life too.

L.A. Reid‘s House: L.A. was hanging with Rhianna as his help mate. And why not? He discovered her, so it makes sense. The shoe was kind of on the other foot for L.A., in that he had to (so we had to) put up with some inane comments from her. As in “I think he’s beautiful, but corny.” Or my absolute favorite! “I really liked his voice. He’s a real country singer …” This about contestant Tim Cifers, who could only sing or act or be more country if Kenny Chesney threw him up after a bender. Geez.

At L.A.’s house, I like Marcus Canty. He’s the twenty year old whose Mom was going to make him give up singing and get a real job at the end of this year. This kid has “it.” No brainer; marketable, great range, cute and confidence. He’s headed for the finals. This I can tell you for sure.

And yes, I’m on board with the sentimental favorite Chris Rene too. I have a heart, ya know.

Pauler‘s House: They say the state of your house matches your mind, and Pauler’s house is a mess. No, not looks wise. It’s quite a lovely manse in fact, what with all the pretty twinkling lights. It’s just … there’s no talent in her groups selection. I can only pick one out of all I saw: “Intensity.” And even they are just kinda Disney mediocre.

Who is her fellow mentor guy “Farrell?” I didn’t even have the strength to google him, that’s how bored he made me. I do have to say though, that another obvious airhead moment a la Nicole’s above? Remember when the group “The Stereo Hogzz” performed “Heard it Through the Grapevine,” and Pauler turned to Farrell afterward and he said, “They’re like old Motown!” And she freaked out like she was having a light bulb moment and yelled, “That’s exactly what they are! Exactly!!”

Um … get what I’m trying to say?

Simon‘s House: Well, of course Simon’s house is the greatest. What did you expect? How can Paris and a pool suck? Also! He finagled the “girl group,” and it happens to contain the most talent. Tonight, I easily picked three of his final four in Christa (the former weird Disney star), Rachel (the thirteen year old wonder), and Melanie. If I wouldn’t have been at death’s door the other night I could tell you who I think should be his final choice. All I know is she has blond hair, and I saw her through a haze of ibuprofen and Cepacol.

However! Don’t be surprised when he sticks with Tiah, who he’s been adamant about since the first auditions. I really don’t get why he feels the way he does about her. But he does.

So, there you have it. What do you say? Who should stay and who should go now? Come on and let me know!

You seriously don’t know who Pharrell is? He’s one of the most influential music producers of the last decade,

That’s why I asked who he was…

Glad you’re feeling better girl, ya recken any hanky-panky is involved in Simon’s house? :-)

Dear Bronsont, if there wasn’t hanky panky involved at Simon’s house? I would be truly disappointed!

I am completely in love with Josh Krajcik, but I can’t decide if it is because of his singing. He reminds me of a guy who was a definite “big brother” type in college. He played at going to school between being Assistant Manager at various chain restaurants. [Pizza places, steak houses, coffee houses, and maybe a burger joint or two.] My friend played guitar, sang, and even wrote a few songs. He was definitely the scruffy, ex-college football type. Clean him up, dress him up, put a guitar in his hand, turn him loose on a song that meant something to him and magic happened.

So, I don’t see Josh, I see Pat. Don’t worry, he’ll clean up great. At least he did 40 years ago.

PS – “Enrique, would you take my place on the rest of this season’s X factor?” Oops, guess that was only a dream I was having.

That’s hilarious, Nyela!

PS again – I think Simon’s big “surprise” elimination is going to be Tiah. [Isn’t Christa Collins in the over 30 group? (Nicole’s, not Simon’s?)]

Josh reminds me of Bob Seagar. I love him. My favorite girl so far is Jazz Little and I so hope she gets through. I don’t like Tiah and her song the other night was bad and I think Simon saw that. None of the groups really are standing out to me. I like the kid who just got out of rehab he kind of reminds me of Eniem but maybe not as nasty. But I do like Marcus too. I am looking forward to seeing who they pick

Won’t be long now. However, I’m a bit chagrined that they’re planning on dragging it out for two whole hours. Is that really necessary? Sigh.
