Lexx! Lexx! Lexx! If you didn’t catch Lexx when it originally aired, you missed the most bizarre television show I’ve ever seen. While it has a pretty reasonable sci-fi story at the core of its mythology, the week to week adventures are completely off the wall. Occasionally, head-scratchingly so. And that’s a good thing. It’s so crazy that you just can’t look away. It’s long been one of my favorites, and it is finally getting a well deserved re-issue on DVD. The OG releases have been out of print for years, so now is a great time to see it again, or discover a hidden gem for the very first time.
The show is also something of a rarity in that it got better with every season. That’s what makes this latest release so easily the pick of the week. For the low, low, price of just $21.99, you can get seasons three and four. That will walk you through the entirety of the Fire and Water adventure in season three, and right into the final season where the whole gang winds up on Earth. It’s absolutely fantastic, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone who likes their sci-fi with a big dose of insanity.
Elsewhere, Jane By Design arrives for those of you that like the ABC Family brand of teen drama. And That ’70s Show gets the Blu-ray treatment, possibly signaling a wave of such re-issues from all of those ’90s sit-coms that have only been available on DVD.
