The week on DVD brings new offerings from ‘Survivor’, ‘Barney Miller’, ‘F Word’, ‘Tales Of Wells Fargo’, ‘The Virginian’, ‘Wagon Train’, ‘Avengers’, ‘Robot Chicken’, ‘Tom & Jerry’, ‘Dennis The Menace’, ‘Snapped’, and ‘Young Justice’.
The big story last week was the triumphant return of ‘The Walking Dead’ on cable, complete with numbers that the vast majority of network shows couldn’t match.
This week’s releases include ‘V’, ‘The Clone Wars’, ‘Top Shot’, ‘Jamie’s Food Escapes’, ‘Gigolos’, ‘The Street’, ‘Peanuts’, ‘Robotech’, ‘Thundercats’, ‘Little House’, ‘Real L Word’, and ‘Pawn Stars’.
‘Charlie’s Angels’ became the latest show to be given a pink slip last week. In happier news, Tim Allen’s new sitcom, ‘Last Man Standing’ got off to a very good start. On cable, Shawn and Gus kicked off season six of ‘Psych’ on USA.
Now that the new fall season is in full swing, things are slowing down a bit with the DVD releases. ‘Chuck’ and ‘Bones’ are the big network releases, with ‘Workaholics’ and ‘Aqua Unit’ carrying the mail for cable.
As we enter October it is time for the merciless axe of cancellation to start swinging. The week brought the first four pink slips for the 2011-2012 season as ‘Playboy Club’, ‘Free Agents’, ‘How To Be A Gentleman’, and ‘H8R’ were all sent packing.
A big list of releases includes ‘Friday Night Lights’, ‘Walking Dead’, ‘The League’, ‘Lie To Me’, ‘Bored To Death’, ‘Drinking Made Easy’, ‘Upstairs Downstairs’, ‘Prohibition’, ‘In Treatment’, ‘Beavis & Butthead’, and much much more.
