Bio: My time away from the TV is spent in an IT cave doing things that might seem interesting on the surface, but would likely bore you in detail. Along with those lofty pursuits, I'm a huge fan of Mr. Neal Stephenson, have a strange love for Canadian things, and am currently hammering out the tenets for a boob-based-religion. If you need to find me, try looking in one of Seattle's many theatres. This one is my current favorite.

Leverage – The Cakemaker of Kiev would whoop your ass

(Season 1, Episode 7 – “The Wedding Job” ) Last week we saw how the team is becoming “a little more than a team.” Maybe even, a family. The thing about families, they don’t always agree. And sometimes, the kids just won’t do what Dad says. For the second week in a row, Nate’s authority […]

Ratings Clack – The week before Idol offers a couple surprises

(1/05 – 1/11) TV for 2009 started spinning up the turbos last week, and will be at full boost when Idol comes online this week. That will, of course, send numbers in all kinds of crazy directions. It should anyway, unless I got the animal sacrifices and the Gregorian chanting right this time. Once I […]

Psych – Pa does not love Fa

(Season 3, Episode 10 – “Six Feet Under The Sea”) Finally, the mid-season break is over, and our favorite psychic detective agency is back in business. Thankfully, the time off hasn’t rusted the skills. Shawn and Gus were in top form, tackling a case that not many shows could pull off. I mean, really, can […]

Stargate Atlantis – The Big Series Finale

(Season 5, Episode 20 – “Enemy At The Gate” – Season/Series Finale) TV shows come and go every year. That’s just how it works. Even with that in mind, it’s been a long time since I’ve been as disappointed to see a show go as I was with Atlantis. Season five has been a fun […]

Leverage – They have guns and manpower. We have a prop truck.

(Season 1, Episode 6 – “The Stork Job”) After a bit of scheduling weirdness last week, the show  returned to the original episode order with a job that took the team to Belgrade. An odd mix of circumstances that included gun runners, orphans, and what appeared to be the set of a Sci Fi Original […]

Open Letters: “Produced by Ashton” doesn’t make us watch

Dear Network Suits, Did you ever see Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels? Go with me here. There’s a scene where a bunch of the bad guys are locked in a security cage, and being shot from the rafters. The leader, finally fed up with the situation, bellows out, “Could everyone stop getting shot?!” It’s […]

Ratings Clack – Eli Stone vs Aqui y Ahora? It’s a draw.

(12/30 – 1/04) Christmas and New Years are now in the rearview, so we can finally start getting back to something that passes for a regular television viewing schedule. If someone could just make this damn snow stop, I’d be a happy guy. Before we rejoin some of our favorite shows for the beginning of […]
