CliqueClack TV’s 2009 guide to holiday TV programming

Well, the holiday season is upon us. You know this by the broken femur you’re nursing from being trampled in Best Buy while racing for that $48 Blu-Ray DVD. Or, the $80 Dora Talking Kitchen that you bought for the kids that they’ll play with for five minutes, break in the next five, then turn […]

Wilson learns to be more like House, the hard way

“I just had a House moment. I diagnosed transverse myelitis from a cold sore. How cool is that? Patients really eat that crap up.” – Wilson I can’t believe it took six seasons for the powers-that-be to do a Wilson-centric episode! Now that they finally did, it was certainly worth the wait. This was not […]

Heroes – I don’t think I was supposed to be laughing

Alright, I have to apologize if you liked this episode of Heroes, but for me it was an hour of stupid decisions and sappy sentimentality, with each scene a little more ridiculous than the next. I know that we, as a fan base, have been clamoring for a major death for a couple of years […]

Adult Swim in a Box – DVD review

I have yet to come up with any super-great possible explanation as to why [adult swim] decided to release such an odd mish-mash of DVDs for Adult Swim in a Box. Someone online casually suggested that it may have been because there were too many of certain seasons in a warehouse and [as] just wanted […]

Men of a Certain Age – CliqueClack preview

A preview of the new TNT series Men of a Certain Age, starring Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher. Men of a Certain Age is a show about three college friends who’ve reached middle age. Each of their stories is unique, and yet each one is also identifiable. The show type is actually one that’s generally about women, an observation I made to my wife that was reinforced by Scott Bakula in his interview. He said it’s unusual to have three guys standing around, talking about life, without a dead body on the table, or them being cops, lawyers, or doctors. But just because it’s a first doesn’t mean it doesn’t work — it works extremely well, and I’m really happy that this show came together.

Now that Black Friday is over: Cyber Monday is here!

For all of you who’ve been holding off on those online purchases for possibly better deals, today would be the day. “Cyber Monday” is the online version of Black Friday, though since they all seem to participate in that day anyway, I’m not really sure why they bother. Here are some of today’s notable deals […]

Californication – That’s why authors sell autographed copies of their books direct to market

Okay, so this episode was a bit of a miss, a slight incident of falling off the wagon. Not like episodes five and six, which were just subpar, and also kind of inexplicable as far as their existence in the timeline this season. No, this one made sense, and it was the “Slow Happy Boys” […]
