This week, several characters on ’30 Rock’ delved into their childhoods, leading to some funny breakthroughs and a titular chain reaction of mental anguish.

Last season felt like a decline from what has been a strong show and competition. I’m glad to see this season started off well … thanks to competitors who have been there before and the right challenge.

I’ve talked with these guys, I’ve met with these guys and I’ve even been with them on one of their hunt locations … and I really do like them! But the latest “guest investigator” stunt not only perplexed me, it’s made me tune out, possibly for good.

Every week brother and sister team Bob and Debbie take on a new topic. This week it’s the midseason shows (both new and returning) that we’re excited about.

If there is a show that balances outstanding family drama with subtle comedy better than ‘Friday Night Lights,’ I’m not sure what it is.
