‘Saturday Night Live’ returns to fine form with host Steve Buscemi and a surprise appearance by Whitney Houston … I mean Maya Rudolph. But did they go just a little too far with the Sexual Predator Investigation sketch?

New this week – ‘Big Love’, ‘The Game’, ‘Portlandia’, ‘MST3K’, ‘Sarah Jane’, ‘Simpsons’, ‘Tall Man’, ‘Captain Power’, ‘Designing Women’, ‘Alvin’, ‘Ben 10′, ‘Looney Tunes’, ‘Law & Order’, ‘Lucy’, ‘Going My Way’, ‘Skeleton Warriors’, ‘Elvira’, ‘Underbelly’, ‘Transformers’, ‘Spongebob’, and ‘Voltron’.

The ‘Nikita’ midseason finale was not all that surprising, but it did raise a few eyebrows. What will the show do with all its dangling plot threads? And who’s that great guest star at the end?

This season has been one of the oddest in plot and pacing up to this point, with a major happening in its seventh fall finale that leaves me scratching my head.

Lest I forget, I did enjoy Jim rolling and crawling out of the office, getting caught by the closing gate, and fleeing to the roof where he came across Creed flying a toy helicopter (Creed!), all in the name of not having to face Robert California. Smooth.

If you’re looking for a little slice of truly old-fashioned happiness in your television rotation, ignore any misgivings you may have had about ‘Once Upon a Time’ being a stupid fairytale show and watch it. It’s worth it.
