After a full summer of ho-hum, last week brought us five days of full-tilt-boogie network programming. The early results for the new season say that things look very good over at CBS. The other networks were very hit and miss.

ABC’s ‘My Generation’ has a premise that some people are going to connect with immediately. Unfortunately, for viewers that aren’t a part of said generation, identifying with the characters is going to be a challenge.
The Glades put forth another case this week that bled into the personal relationship of Jim Longworth and Callie Cargill. If I had any doubt that this was really a show about their relationship, it was laid to rest this week when A&E put out a call to find out if we’re on Team Jim or Team Ray.
The 17th season gets off to a good start but navigational errors, manual transmissions, flat tires, unstable boats and an errant watermelon quickly turn the race upside down.
The season got off to a slow start, but some exciting new cast members and some returning favorites should kick the show back into gear. I hope.
When I read that this season would pick right up where we left off, I was a little worried. Then I saw the fifth season premiere and nodded in satisfaction. We need to see Dexter through this mess he made for himself and others.
As ‘Boardwalk Empire’ continues its young season, I’m still trying to form a definitive opinion on the show. The production value is out of this world, but I’ve decided there is just way too much of Jimmy Darmody.
