My hope for Russell, that his marriage to Liz would make him more serious — if not in general than at least about relationships — doesn’t appear to be coming true just yet. How long can he continue to chase everything in a skirt? Isn’t David Spade closing in on fifty (hint: he is)?
This isn’t the first time Timmy’s mentioned being lonely without a significant other. I know we saw his betrothed way back when, but we haven’t really ever seen him with a woman. Isn’t it time to change that? Maybe someone who walks all over Russell, for kicks?
Jeff and Audrey are so great together. In fact, Shy Dial did a disservice to them, since it increased the amount of time that they were apart. “As far as you know, I will care?” They’re hilarious! Give us more!
If Russell’s really settling into his marriage with Liz — have you noticed that we haven’t seen him so much as look at another woman since they wed? — then that leaves Timmy as the sole bachelor. Will he get paired up too to make things even?
His look of disbelief was infinitely greater than ours … what we saw was Jeremy Piven — from behind the mask of his character — thinking, “Really? Eight seasons in and this guy gets to do the big Mrs. Ari name reveal?!?!”
It was dumb when Timmy pulled it on Russell, but I loved how both of them fooled Adam with cardboard cutouts of themselves. Timmy on the phone was a good one — does Adam not perceive dimensions? — but Russell asleep on his couch was great.
Realizing that continuity is not this show’s strong suit, what hippie parents would raise a son who was All-County Junior Men’s Bowling Champion, Division I? Am I the only one who thought Adam grew up on a commune, far from fancy things like bowling alleys?
