A slow week of releases includes ‘Californication’, ‘Victorious’, ‘Pie In The Sky’, ‘Rawhide’, ‘Voltron’, ‘Brideshead Revisited’, ‘The Chipmunks’, ‘Beast Wars’, ‘Daffy Duck’, and ‘Deadliest Catch’.
While things were mostly quiet on the broadcast front, the big premieres continued on cable. Last week saw the return of ‘Entourage’ on HBO, and ‘Project Runway’ on Lifetime.
It was a big premiere week on cable as ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Memphis Beat’, ‘Hawthorne’, ‘Lives of Chloe King’, ‘Hot In Cleveland’, and ‘Happily Divorced’ all debuted. On the broadcast networks, the NBA again took the top spot.
Three NBA games stole the glory for the week on the broadcast networks while cable offered up a number of summer premieres, including ‘White Collar’, ‘Covert Affairs’, ‘Switched At Birth’, and ‘The Glades’.
The summer TV season hit with full force last week, as we saw the networks spending more time airing repeats than originals. Sports helped ease the transition a bit. The NBA, NASCAR, and the NHL all entered prime time, to wildly differing results. On cable, Paris Hilton is back…
We can officially put the 2010-2011 season in the books now, and the more things change, the more they stay the same (‘Ido’l and ‘DWTS’ are still huge). As the season ends, it’s time to welcome the onslaught of summer programming. Hello ‘Bachelorette’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
