“Season one? Don’t you mean series?” Unfortunately for this show, I believe you’re correct. I don’t believe CBS ever gave Swingtown a formal renewal, though I don’t believe it’s been formally canceled either. One of Swingtown‘s main cast members, Grant Show, recently said in an interview with TV Guide that he was pretty sure the show was through, since their contracts were up this month.
In any case, now you can own what looks to be the complete series of Swingtown on DVD (though it’s formally called “season one”)! The set is available in stores starting today.

I love Swingtown – I never missed an episode in the summer. It got a tough road from CBS, and never was able to find a good audience. But, the one it did find was very loyal, and I’m part of it.

Mine! I have to say I was just about the Swingtown Number One Fan. I tried to get everyone I knew to watch it, especially those my age. Any show that features Gnip Gnop AND Deep Throat along with all the groovy clothes and cultural references deserved a full season, let alone a second. Aaarrrgggghhhh. Unfayer!!!!

This was a great show – all the characters had depth and subtlety, and the writing was (mostly) great. I’m still holding out hope that it’ll get picked up for a second summer season, but I’ve already accepted that this DVD may be the last I see of Swingtown.
