Last Comic Standing – We will never forget you!

I've already pretty much forgotten the three people kicked off 'Last Comic Standing' this week. Their material was nothing special. And so far, I am two for three in my predictions. Maybe I should move to Vegas....

Host Craig Robinson said the words in my headline to a couple of the comedians booted from Last Comic Standing last night, as we waved them ba-bye. I find this phrase a bit over the top. People you never forget are: Bob Hope, Richard Pryor, or your dead Grandma.

Having said that though, it seems like some writers have finally shown up to help out Craig with his transitions. (Thank the comedy Gods here.) He’s also stopped shouting so much into his mike, which is a relief to an old woman like me. See nothing is all bad!

Did you read my review last week? Really? Why not? I try to support you in everything you do! Hmmmph. Well, go back and read it now, and you’ll see that I was 77.9 percent right in my predictions about who would be leaving us. I was spot-on about James Adomian and Maronzio Whomever. (See? I told you I’ve forgotten them already.)

Laurie Kilmartin (pictured) wasn’t much of a surprise. I’ve mentioned she’s a better writer than a stand-up. And if I failed to say it out loud, I certainly thought it, so give me break. Now, only one woman is left standing … Rachel Feinstein. Although she had an a’ight set this week, she won’t make it all the way. She just is too raw. She does a lot of character voices, which I’m a big fan of. Yet, she changes accents and inflections all the way through an impression. Consistency! That’s the word I was looking for.

My pick to “go away who didn’t” was Johnathan Thymius. I just don’t get this guy. I understand he’s channeling Steven Wright. But it doesn’t work for me. See, Steven Wright was/is funny! Johnathan isn’t. His jokes are really … dumb. Here’s one: “I recently found out I’m not the devil. I read my underpants wrong. They said ‘Satin’.” Ugh.

One comic goes next week. And again, I’m picking Johnathan Thymius. “Take my wife … please!”

I just noticed on FB that you are writing reviews for this show. I rarely go to FB as you can see.

Craig Robinson has been AWFUL!!! Not that I’ve ever really known of him outside The Office in order to compare but annoying???

And speaking of annoying, Johnthan Thymius just makes me go “hummm???” The comedian that lost to him I really liked. I never remember the names until they’re down to the bottom 3.

I will go and read your review from last week. OK!?!

Hey Lois! Craig Robinson has absolutely bugged me no end. I’m glad I’m not alone. Yes, read all my reviews please…

I think Thymius is hilarious, mostly because of his delivery. The “satin” joke was weak, but he had some great ones in previous episodes and in this one.

Nice to see they’re only eliminating one next week. I think it should be Mike DeStefano as his set was the weakest in my opinion. Almost everyone else was funny. I was disappointed that Maronzio Vance got the boot because I found him to be very funny. My top 3 this week were Tommy Johnagin, Roy Wood Jr., and Myq Kaplan (4th would probably be Felipe, though Rachel comes close; I love Thymius but he had a weak set this time out).

Natalie/Natasha or whatever her name is is such a waste of space and sound. Why is she here? I loved Tommy burning her. Good thing Greg and Andy are so funny.

Wow Adam. Yes, Thymius’ delivery, the whole dead pan thing, is amusing. But his material completely lacks. But! I agree with you about Mike DeStefano. I just don’t get why the crowd likes him so much? And Natasha? Well, if you’ve seen my earlier reviews, you know how chafing I find her.
