Philly Comic Con 2012 brings the thunder

Philly Comic Con 2012 brought the big guns with Chris Hemsworth ('Thor', 'Avengers', 'Snow White'), Paul Wesley ('Vampire Diaries'), Sam Trammell ('True Blood'), Sam Witwer ('Being Human'), Kevin Brown (DotCom from '30 Rock', above) and more!

All in all, I enjoyed myself. Although I missed last year’s mom and pop feel where I crowded with people on the floor between sessions, this year’s “small rooms” proved last year’s “big room.” And this year’s “small rooms” — aka last year’s “big room” — still burst at the seams with people. Overall, I enjoyed this year’s flow. They organized the timing between panels more tightly and kept panels to a 45-minute deadline. Lining up to go into rooms proved easier. Although I loved last year’s all-access Press pass, this year they made certain the paying V.I.P.s received prime spots. Also, they brought on more professional security (however, I wish they were a trifle cheerful). Although I saw fewer volunteers this year (and  missed their friendly enthusiasm/cheerful intelligence), this year featured more staff helping with room organization who seemed more knowledgeable about the scheduling and appeared more direct. Also, they added dual screens to the larger rooms and smartly played previews while people waited. Although I loved last year’s moderators, this year’s moderators seemed even more direct and on point. Kudos to Wizard World for keeping Jarrett Crippen (the Defuser), bringing on the professor of Batman-psychology and using the local theater’s actors.

Good job, Philly Comic Con. Keep it up. Look for my other articles with video footage this week!

. . . . .

Huh.

Golden Wonder Woman. Strapless.

Huh.

And lookee there: Another, more traditional Wonder Woman. Strapless. (Though … I will deduct points for her looking so frightened she appears as if she’s ready to run up a tree if anyone approaches her for another photo opportunity.)

Still … two strapless Wonder Women.

… huh …

Ahem, that is why I included golden wonder woman. She is wearing plastic STRAPS. HAH!

I noticed one-two things. To wear the Wonder Woman costume you must be:
1) Fit
2) Inventive

I saw a ton of awesome WW costumes (and not the Halloween knock-offs). What impressed me most included the amount of real metalwork a lot of the women who wore them, added to the costume. Also, the amount of women rocking STRAPS (albeit plastic ones) told me that, yea, no way in heck could real life WW NOT wear straps ;)
