Dallas – Don’t mess with Bobby!

Bobby and Christopher team up in another fun episode that advances the plot while setting up an installment that is set to be enthralling! I don't know how they do it, but 'Dallas' gets me every time!

- Season 1, Episode 6 - "The Enemy of My Enemy"

I would just like to say that I am very thankful to not belong to a family like the Ewings. I mean, sheesh! There is just too damn much going on. Such was the case in this week’s installment of TNT’s reboot/sequel/whatever of Dallas. It’s been quite a bumpy ride, hasn’t it? Once again, I don’t even know where to start.

It was nice seeing that Rebecca actually has a heart. To be honest, I feel sorry for her. She seems trapped and I don’t like that. She’s really remorseful and it’s blatantly apparent that she’s in love with Christopher. However, how will he react when he learns that she’s pregnant with his child? That was a pretty good cliffhanger … although I think I would have preferred something with John Ross and Veronica — if that’s her real name.

Okay, it’s a fact that Veronica, or Marta, is a damn nutcase. That much is evident. It’s just a shame that John Ross got tangled up with her in the first place. Things just don’t seem to be going his way, do they? His father double-crossed him and now it seems that Bobby has outsmarted him. Speaking of Bobby, I really did enjoy seeing him and Christopher working together to find a way to stop John Ross. Now, that’s what I call real father and son teamwork! Also, how cool was it seeing Bobby slap the crap out of his wife’s ex-husband? It can be pretty hard to root for the good guys sometimes … especially when they aren’t as fun as the villains. However, I think both the ex-husband and John Ross really had it coming to them … especially John Ross. I don’t like him.

I can’t say the same thing about J.R. though. Now, that’s my homie! While the character didn’t receive a lot of screen time this week, it was nice to know that he was still up to no good. As old as he is, I’m going to need J.R. to take up another fun hobby instead of being conniving. Water polo perhaps?

So, what does he have planned for Cliff Barnes? I honestly have no clue. Furthermore, what is Ann’s ex-husband up to … and why does he want to finance Sue Ellen’s campaign? Ladies and gentlemen, there is just so much stuff going on in Texas. Perhaps that’s why I live in Florida. So, what scandals and secrets have you intrigued so far? Sound off in the comments below!

Did you notice that your homie told Bum to call and get a million bucks from Carlos Del Sol? For a brief second I thought he was referring to his Venezuelan investors….but no. What is going on there that he can just essentially tell some billionaire ‘give me a million’

I like the Cliff/JR storyline (eve if it is a back one). Cliff could always see what JR’s ulterior motives were (hence telling everyone JR was still after SF). And JR always could sniff when Cliff was schememing against the . Good stuff.

You’re right, Helen! There is something definitely going on with J.R.! But what I don’t understand is why can’t they just let bygones be bygones? Cliff and J.R. should be over their feud. Oh, well. I guess they are giving the fans what they want. I’d like to see Victoria Principal return!

I’m surprised that they’ve had as much focus on the older generation as they have. My biggest concern from the beginning was that they’d gradually phase out the older characters and focus on the mostly plastic younger generation. Which would be stupid, considering that Hagman and Duffy are by far the two best actors in the cast, and both are fascinating in their own way. I hope they continue to go in that direction. There’s only so much sniveling I can take from John Ross, especially watching him lie to Elena over and over, and her fall for it. I actually hope Christopher can find a way to forgive Rebecca. The baby should help.

Is a bloody nose really a sign of a pregnancy? I knew about the old “not wanting to eat”, “craving strange foods”, “nauseated by smells”, “throwing up in the morning” TV cliches about a pregnancy (which I think are all rooted in some fact). I’ve just never seen the bloody nose before.
