There are several titles worth mentioning on home video this week, but the only one that demands all of the attention is the long-awaited video release of the classic TV version of Batman. It’s taken years and years (and years) of legal wranglings to get this series to home video, but it’s finally here and Warner Home Video has spruced up the image nicely for HD. True Blood fans can get the final season or the complete series this week, and there are many other complete series sets available just in time for the holidays: Beauty & the Beast, Charmed, Family Ties, Hey Arnold!, Highway to Heaven, Taxi, and Wings among them. There was a mixed bag of TV releases on DVD and Blu-ray this week with past seasons of shows soon to return — 2 Broke Girls, Two and a Half Men — and shows that recently ended and are either returning next year — Penny Dreadful, Fargo — or have ended their runs — Dracula, The Honorable Woman. It’s a big week for TV on home video as the new fall season starts to roll out. This week, you have the opportunity to catch up on several of last season’s shows before the new season starts, including Arrow, About a Boy, Awkward, The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Castle, Grimm, Hannibal, Hawaii Five-O, Sleepy Hollow and South Park. For those whose cable systems don’t yet carry Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey channel, the first season of From Dusk Till Dawn makes its home video debut, while streaming series Alpha House and Burning Love also get home video releases. As the new fall season approaches, the networks and studios are giving viewers a chance to catch up on the past season before the fall premieres begin to roll out. Heading up the home video releases for September 9 are Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, The Goldbergs, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Blue Bloods and Homeland. Classic TV shows coming to DVD this week include The Midnight Special, Dynasty, Little House on the Prairie and a collection of Perry Mason movies. Reality TV fans can enjoy the Honey Boo Boo Halloween special and PBS’ Sex in the Wild, and the kids (and Bronies) can look for a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Halloween “spooktacular.”

Plenty of big TV titles hit home video this week, and with the second season of Lifetime’s Witches of East End about to commence, now’s your chance to catch up on the first season of the magical sudser. The big release of the week is the second season of Netflix’s House of Cards. Some major TV titles come to home video this week. The season finale just aired Sunday, and Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is already available on video to watch again! With the regular TV season over and the summer TV season about to begin, now is the time to catch up on some of your favorite series before they come back to the airwaves. Two genre favorites, Warehouse 13 and Nikita, aired their final seasons and now those series finales can be yours on home video this week. Also making the journey from broadcast to home video are the Brit favourites Call the Midwife, Dalziel & Pascoe, and Waking the Dead. Reality TV buffs can get caught up on the second season of Mountain Men and the first season of Amish Mafia. Classic TV is well represented with a new edition of classic Doctor Who, “The Enemy of the World,” and TV drama L.A. Law gets a second season release. And Happy Days fans can now own the infamous episode that spawned the phrase “Jumped the Shark” with the fifth season DVD. Sitcom reissues include The Jeffersons, The Facts of Life, Good Times and The Dick Van Dyke Show. Cartoon superheroes are also on hand with JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time and Batman: The Brave & The Bold.
