We’re into the doldrums of the Lost off-season, or so it seems. Things are quiet out there in the Lost universe, but there are a few things going on…
The big news: We finally have a launch date for season five! Mark your calendars fellow Lost fanatics — January 21st is the day. It’s going to be one of those crazy ABC events, with a recap special at 8:00, and then the first two episodes of the new season back-to-back. Lost will be airing regularly at 9:00 on Wednesdays, back to it’s old spot. For me, I think this is the most exciting news, as I can go to bed at a reasonable time again. I would stay up until 4:00 in the morning for Lost, don’t get me wrong, but I wasn’t enjoying the 10:00 time slot from last year.
In case you missed it, ABC has posted a new promo for season five. You can check it out on their Lost website. Of course, the 15 second clip is shorter than the 30 second commercial that precedes it, but we’re Lost fans right? We’d suffer a whole lot more than a 30 second commercial for a Lost preview. But really, there’s not much going on in this clip.
I’m going to be discussing some more spoilery material after the jump, so if you aren’t into that, stay away.
Dark UFO is reporting that Mrs. Hawking will be back for two episodes this season. If you don’t recall, she is the mysterious jewelry vendor who knows all about Desmond’s time traveling tendencies. I’m wondering if Desmond will meet her in present day now that he is off the island, or if he is going to start some more time traveling shenanigans. I’m guessing the former. It seems like after “The Constant” they’ve played out the whole time travel aspect. Give poor Desmond a break, that’s what I say. The dude’s had a bad few years; give the Scot some time to enjoy his lady. After all, they’re going to have their hands full avoiding the wrathful Ben, who has sworn to kill Penny.
There have been a few casting announcements made, with the latest seeing Reiko Aylesworth join the cast in a recurring role. She was last seen in ER and 24. Supposedly she is going to be playing “Amy,” but if history has taught us anything, I can all but assure you that her character’s name will not be Amy.
Anyone out there have any theories about Mrs. Hawking? Are you like me and have a big countdown timer hung up above your TV set?
