Dear writers and producers of Eli Stone:
As I was driving along today, listening to the Christmas music radio station in my car playing “Do They Know It’s Christmas Time at All?” something hit me right between Boy George and the ensemble: I miss George Michael on Eli Stone.
I’ve recently bemoaned the old days on Eli in a post, wondering if you people screwed them into getting canceled. Can that be true? Regardless, you don’t have your ace in the hole this season.
Oh sure, I love Eli Stone, don’t get me wrong; I just feel like it is floundering a bit, losing its way, trying to reinvent itself far too early in the series. What it is really lacking is George Michael.
Not only was he a good sport, he was the perfect casting: a former hottie, a little washed up, but still a huge talent respected by many, including me. The whole picture fit the quirky series and added a little pizazz, as well as a thread that linked the whole first season.
I get that George had done his stint and you really couldn’t go back there, but why not continue along those lines with another theme to Eli’s visions in season two? I just wonder if the floundering is because there is nothing tying together Eli’s visions with meaning and humor.
I know, I know — why does it even matter when the series is all but canceled? I’m just saying, in the hopes that maybe Eli Stone does come back in the fall, or that you could learn from your mistakes. Don’t lose your way again. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Respect the love that is George Michael. You gotta have faith, after all.

I totally agree. I loved how he was used (as a muse and in real life) on the show.
Agree. When I heard Eli Stone was going to be cancelled, I wrote the network and told them it was the absence of George Michael and his millions of fans who were not watching. Actually I told them earlier that they should figure a way to include George while his touring made it difficult to tape shows. I mean this is 2008 – they could have found a way. Guess they thought they didn’t need George. Surprise!! George’s admirers knew!
