Jon & Kate Plus 8 – Ten minutes of kitchen drama is enough

2efq5afI tuned in to Jon & Kate Plus 8 for the first time ever – EVER - last evening as I retired.

120+ channels … and there was nothing on, believe it or don’t. I slouched in bed, attempting to fend off the sleepies, wiling away the moments ’til Dave and Paul at 11:30.

Channel surfing, I came across Emeril Lagasse concocting something over a kitchen stove. A fake, over-bearing, overly-animated, should’ve-been-wearing-a-tiara type woman was standing near him. She had a really bad haircut with train track spike streaky-streaks running through it. Her haircut made her head look lopsided, but that was okay because it seemed to help offset her personality somewhat. (You guessed it: I came across the last 10 minutes or so of a recent episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8.)

In the few minutes that I watched, I witnessed consternation on Emeril’s face as he tried to cajole and cook his way through the segment. He didn’t look like he wanted to be there.

In mere minutes, I saw Kate:

  • … shriek at a cameraman
  • … slap Emeril with a spatula
  • … stuff her piehole
  • … feign astonishment
  • … drag imaginary nails across the chalkboard of my mind
  • … wantonly toss salt over her shoulder
  • … glare
  • … huff
  • … chide
  • … pretend to rule the roost
  • … annoy the hell out of me

Throughout my brief escapade with this woman and this chef, my jaw was slack and hanging open. It dawned on me why this program was so popular.  The fact of the matter is: Everyone finds it difficult to look away from a massive train wreck. Especially when there are cute kids involved.

P.S. There is something wrong with that Jon dude. He looks serial-killerish.

Ah, you caught one of the ‘variety show’ episodes of Jon & Kate that shoved various reality show stars on the show in order to tone down the tension. I’m surprised the Donny and Marie didn’t show up in one episode to sing ‘I’m a Little Bit Country, I’m a Little Bit Rock n’ Roll’. Unfortunately, no one watched these episodes because there wasn’t any marriage talk. Hence, the reason for this past Monday’s episode.

And, of course, it goes on hiatus as soon as this posted …..

*ugh* Seriously. I’ve tried to see what the hub-bub was about with that train wreck. I’m sick of seeing women emulate that horrendous hair do I like to call ‘the skullet’ as it’s a reversed mullet. She’s dreadful. I’m quite certain she carries Jon’s ‘manhood’ in her designer purse so I find it hard to believe he could have fooled around on her … And to think I know all of this from watching a combined 15 minutes of the show.

Ugh. I agree with MissRiss. That family is so far beyond dysfunctional at this point it’s ridiculous. Jon and Kate both keep saying, “We just want peace for our kids. That’s what’s important.” Then shut off the damn cameras and walk away from the fame you twits.

This whole situation drives me nuts. Why can’t these people see what they are doing to their family? Where are their friends to keep them grounded? Where is their family to smack them down? Makes me sick. Those poor children.

I liked this show better when Willie Aames was still on it.

Do these “parents” even know what kind of damage they are doing to the kids? Not that I don’t like the idea of large families or think some of the 8 should have never been, but there has to be a point where you stop and think. If you have multiples, chances are you will again, and again.

Parents, think about this a sec…… we have triplets, and this means we are at a higher risk for this happening again, we can handle 3 kids, and a fourth would be great, but what happens if you have triplets again? All of the sudden you are quitting your job to avoid daycare expenses and you have to buy a 15 passenger van. Being in a hardship like this, even though you love your kids and wouldn’t ever give them up, is still a hardship.

If you continue to have kids past the point of you being able to handle it, keeping in with your current financial lifestyle is not a good situation. Unless of course you want to clip coupons and budget every penny for the next 20 years.

It’s the parents’ decision, but unfortunately some people don’t realize they have made it until too late. I’m just saying start small and do not go any further until you really see what you are getting yourself into.

I’m convinced that Kate will have at least two more book deals in the next three years.

Drop by and read my take on the situation… LINK
