Warehouse 13 – H. G. Wells invented the flux capacitor

Ever since H. G. Wells was introduced to the show, I've wondered about the time machine from his ... er ... her novel of the same name. It turns out it looks like Doc Brown had the right idea.

- Season 2, Episode 10 - "When and Where"

This was a clever way to bring the H.G. Wells time machine into the show, and not simply showing it sitting on a shelf at the warehouse or talked about briefly during an unrelated mission. And I’m glad they didn’t simply throw us a machine that actually transfers physical bodies to different times. I especially like the obvious shout-out to the Back to the Future flux capacitor, both in how it looks and the insane amount of power it consumes.

I’m warming up quickly to Wells’ motives. I’m pretty confident she does not have anything sinister in mind, at least not toward the team directly. It could be that she’s out to save her daughter somehow, and her methods may be dangerous to everyone, though. Will she set aside logic, reasoning and ethics to get what she wants? I’m sure that’s what Artie will be betting on. So, in the end, she’s evil … and she’s not. Everyone’s right.

Speaking of Artie, though, I’m already tired of his issues with the team. Hopefully, based on the previews of next week, that’ll all come to an end soon. If not, well, the season’s almost over already anyway. As for H.G. Wells, how long will it be before we hear that War of the Worlds was real?

I definitely enjoyed this episode more than I thought, based on the premise previewed to us last week. How about you?

Although HG may try to find a way to save her daughter, I think it more likely she’ll try to find a way to exact revenge on those who killed Christine…..
