Community Virtual Tour: Spotlight on Ken Jeong and Dan Harmon

The 'Community' season one DVD is already out. How do I know that? Because Ken Jeong can shill like no man.

Final Thoughts

The virtual tour actually went smoother than the previous one. I didn’t have to register. I didn’t have to re-install software. I didn’t have to test days in advance. The simplified instructions of just clicking a link and the video turnaround time all helped. Ken was the perfect interviewer and I loved his assistant. The questions were smart, thorough, and reflected what an avid watcher might ask.

Does it compare to visiting a real set? Admittedly, I’ve only visited two sets so far – Psych and Facing Kate (the latter I’ll release closer to the show’s January start date). Both Ken and Dan congratulated us on “not joining them there” through technology. Visiting Psych enabled me to see cast and crew interactions. The Virtual Tour serves more as a behind the scenes ‘sneak peek’ (which simultaneously and unabashedly encourages people to purchase the DVD sets). So, they both have their purposes. Unless there are set visits for shows filmed on the East Coast anytime soon, it seems as if virtual tours are the economic way to go.

In closing, I have to do my duty (after all, I got to see Joel McHale in a wife-beater) and let you guys know Community: The Complete First Season arrives on DVD September 21st and the Season 2 premiere appears on September 23rd .
