PodClack – Episode 23: Peeps for Jews

In this episode, comedian Jay Black joins Brian to discuss Chilean miners and 'The Princess Bride,' and Christy T. talks 'Mad Men' and more.

Welcome back to another episode of our PodClack podcast. Make sure you tune in and make your friends tune in as well, and comment and rate us on our iTunes page!

Every week (or kinda-sorta every week), Brian does a TV guide keyword search based on a word someone leaves in a comment here, so sure you leave a word for Brian’s next movie look-up!

Please keep the comments coming and let us know what you think. Got suggestions? Questions? We’d love to hear ‘em! Make sure you get everyone you know to subscribe to the PodClack in iTunes (and rate us, please!) or via some other feed — we feed Jay’s ego a careful diet of traffic numbers and subscriber count, so let’s not let that sucker die of starvation.

Thanks for listening!

Yaaaaaay!

New podclack recording MONDAY. We have Christy T. in therapy right now in anticipation (Christy T. needs extensive pre- and post-podclack therapy sessions for what she, her therapists, and her lawyers call “Post Traumatic Jay Disorder”). Expect the next podclack on the sooner side of next week!

So get those suggestions in. What do you want Brian to watch next week? What shows should Christy and I talk about?

Let the revolution begin!! (note: no actual revolution will begin)

I’m going to start off with a pithy comment and say that during Brian’s segment I could barely hear you on full volume. Brian I could hear. Maybe its because I was listening while using very loud public transportation idk.

However I would like to hear more of this Allison Brie coming into my house and leaving me presents plan for Judaism recruitment. If Brian got that cleared at the last meeting I’m willing to consider converting.

Yeah AC, we have a little bit of an issue with the call recorder program for Skype. It records the host a little too low. What we’ve done in the past is bring Brian’s volume way down then artificially increase the volume of the whole thing when we mix it.

But, uh, this time? We (meaning me) left the volume too high on Brian’s end so we had an issue with my voice being too low and Brian’s voice being way too high. It’ll be fixed for the next podclack. (In a quiet room — like my bedroom every night of the week — you should be able to hear me okay… so you know, second listen, right? Always better the second time!)

And yes, the Alison Brie idea might be the best idea we’ve ever put forward on the ‘clack. I’m seriously thinking of campaigning for Senator on the Alison Brie platform.

Nice podclack!!! really happy about the princess bride review. I’m from Chile, and right now it’s all about the miners in tv, radio, cable… so you have to understand my surprise when the miners invaded my favorite podcast too!!!

I would like to hear about Supernatural, HIMYM, or Dexter, but i don’t think that either of you watch them. Love Mad Men too, but because the podclack isn’t like a constant thing, you miss things that i what to comment (when you get to the episode i saw like a million years ago, i can’t remember what i liked about that episode). Maybe you and Christy could review the new shows out there, that has a longer staying period in my mind :)

Word to Brian: dancing.

PS: Congratulations on your proyects, hope that at least one of them made it to foreing contries like Chile (we get almost everything, so i would totally catch your movie in the teatre)

Thanks so much for the kind words. I love being able to say that the podclack is an _international_ hit.

We’re going to record on Monday and try to get the podclack up quickly next week. I’ll make sure we do our best to cover the shows you mentioned here (we’ll definitely talk about the Mad Men finale, whether Christy has watched it or not).

I hope the projects make it down to Chile too. Hell, frankly I hope that our projects make it to the local Chilis here in Marlton, NJ. I’ll take that as a success.

Glad that Nattyff finally got her wish. I feel like more time was spent on Robin Wright in Forrest Gump than Princess Bride itself, though. Off the top of my head, we didn’t get to reminisce about shrieking eels, “I am not left-handed,” iocane powder, R.O.U.S.’s, or “As you wish.”

Speaking of Rob Reiner movies, I just saw Flipped in my local theater and was quite charmed. Enjoyed the American remake of Let the Right One In as well.

Seconded on Dexter. I’m finding the current fallout from the events of the fourth season to be riveting.

Movie keyword: Red (or Crimson)

I see that I have homework. I’ll bring it up with my therapist to get her input. It will be nice to discuss something with her besides the fact that Brian only listens to his own segment.
