Well, the fourth season of The Big Bang Theory is now a wrap for fans. At least this time the boys aren’t going to live off in the arctic somewhere. However, they just might have stirred up enough comedy-drama to keep us excited to know what might happen next!
I need to confess. Most of the time I don’t understand the words they use in the titles. But when I read the title of this episode, I know exactly where I learned the word “transmogrification.” It was Calvin and Hobbes — when Calvin made his transmogrifier machine out of a cardboard box. And they say you don’t learn anything from comics!
Anyway, back to the episode at hand.
The episode isn’t quite ranking with top season finales of all time with me. It was chuckle-worthy at times, but not quite to a guffaw fest. But I do see what they’re doing with it. It’s definitely setting the groundwork for next season. Apparently, Priya will be heading back to India, something I won’t mind at all.
So the Leonard/Priya relationship will be toast. That would leave room for Penny to get back together with him. Hmmm. But, wait! Penny had sex with Raj! Nah, that’s surely totally embarrassing, but no relationship is possible there. Back to the door open for Penny and Leonard to be together again.
Then there’s the Howard and Bernadette thing. Is he going to overcome the fact that even she will have a doctorate and he has none? I’m going to go out on a limb and predict they’ll stay together. Perhaps Howard’s mother will live with them!
Other than the oft-used ploy of alcohol getting Penny and Raj in bed together (the big chuckle of the episode), the funniest bits were the idea of Star Trek sex and Sheldon revamping the roommate agreement to take Raj in temporarily. Once again, Raj got more airtime. They write very well for him but he’s usually so limited that we don’t get to “know him” per se.

if he spends more time around Dan Harmon the Penny/Raj think could happen relationship wise
I am so pissed about Raj and Penny sleeping together. I have spent the whole season waiting for Leonard and Penny to get back together. Now we know that Penny has been with plenty of guys, but I was sort of hoping that she would at least stay away from the group of friends. The Leonard and Penny thing is one of the best parts of the show and thia turned me off quite a bit.
Can’t wait for Priya to go back to India…. she grated on my nerves!!
It was a big mistake to have Penny/Raj together. In fact, it’s just terrible, not fun or funny at all. The woman who plays Priya is a horrible actress. Yes, she’s annoying, but her acting is even worse.
I agree. This twist left me with a bitter aftertaste. I’m just disgusted with the whole situation. It was nothing but a turn off.
Im so angry come on!! how it is posible!! I have spent the whole season waiting for Leonard and Penny to get back together too, and now this!! what a shame… Penny and Raj make me feel sick about the show…. Like always Leonard is who lose.. Priya is goin’ to India, and he is gonna be so upset about Penny..
PENNY IS GETTING FAT!! HER BROKEN LEG HURT HER FITNESS. HOPEFULLY SHE WILL SLIM DOWN A BIT BEFORE NEXT SEASON, HARD TO BE THE SEX SYMBOL ON THE SHOW WHEN YOUR ARMS ARE CHUNKY.

I too was left with an aweful taste and discuss with Penny and Raj having slept together, and in Leonord’s bed!!! Leonard is always the one to cop the sh*t. I would be soo gutted if i found my gorgeous ex “who i was secretly still in love with” (as Leonard obviously still is), had slept with my mate IN MY BED just after i had found out my current girl was moving back to India. I prob would not talk to either of them again. In my books wrong move Bill and Chuck. But Leonard will suck it in, take the two gut wrenching blows and bottle it up as he usually does. I hope he snaps this time and goes ape at Raj and Penny rather than just mope around and feel sorry for himself.
Thy predator couple of points that may have escaped you. priya is raj’s sister leonard was sneaking around with her. he after they were outed,and raj had to get over leonards breach of friendship were banging in raj’s bed, and the only reason raj was at leonards place was directly because of leonard. also leonard had no problem sneaking out with and sleeping with that doctor howard was seeing. again howard had to forgive leonard for betraying him too. so finally the boot is on the other foot. and the chickens have come home to roost as leonards relationship ends in a sneaky underhand fashion just how it began. be interested to see how the victim as you lot seem to think he is reacts.
I don’t care what Leonard has done. Turning Penny into a drunken slut who would have sex in Leonard’s bed with one of his best friends is not on. Its despicable. And don’t hand me drunk and not responsible. Penny’s character is an experienced drinker. She could never get drunk enough to do such a low thing and still be sober enough to do it. It was so obviously contrived to set up a soap opera style cliff hanger.
She was drunk enough for Leonard to take advantage of her and have sex with her in the s3 finale. She’s not impervious to the effects of alcohol, and definitely not to the people who are there when she is drunk.
Penny and Raj sleeping together is gross, but I was going to make the same point that Sin just made – the whole point of it was that Leonard is the one who has been making both Penny and Raj feel miserable, and now they were drunkenly paying him back, but of course they regret it in the morning. Think about it: for the past several episodes, Penny has been tormented by the sight of Leonard and Priya acting all lovey-dovey together. Raj has been tormented by having to endure them doing the deed in his apartment, in his bed no less. Now that’s disgusting. Leonard deserves zero sympathy here. That last scene was the gross-out punchline to a season-long joke – Leonard has been making Penny and Raj suffer all this time, and then at the very end of the season, the joke is on him.
@Wayne – one of Penny’s defining characteristics has been “drunken slut.” I love her character too, but she’s had a stream of boyfriends and one-night-stands, on screen and off screen, throughout the show. This is part of the character, and has always been. You can’t idealize her and imagine that she is more responsible than she is. That scene, while gross, was not out of character, and certainly not when you combine the drunkenness and her sexual history with the fact that she was probably subconsciously looking for a way to hurt Leonard the way he has been hurting her. And I don’t see this as a soap-opera cliffhanger, because I don’t think they will make a big deal about it next season.
Leonard has not been hurting penny, it was penny who broke with leonard, and slept with the idiot guy (superman) right away. Leonard wait penny a lot but penny didnt care, until leonard decide move on with her life with pryia, he is not hurting penny he just move on.
THAT IS WHY PENNY ADMITS THAT DUMPING LEONARD WAS A HUGE MISTAKE.
Leonard slept with Plimpton first, immediately after their break up, and that was clearly a one night stand. Penny and the “super man guy” didn’t even necessarily have sex. So it was Leonard who moved on first, and he hasn’t been waiting around for her.
Penny moving on is the best move the writers could make.
@ RUBY, I’ so sorry to say this but Leonard didn’t hurt Penny a bit, if you could recall it was Penny who called it a quite just because Leonard proposed his love to her and she wasn’t into such kind of a relationship. Then she started going out with some other dude, and there was Leonard waiting for her to come back but she refused thinking that she was moving on and that Leonard should do the same. Now, Leonard moving on with Priya doesn’t make him the bad guy in this picture but Penny. Yes the whole Penny/Raj situation was way to awkward and I really don’t know where the Chuck Lorre is taking this. But pls spare me the details of nothing happened, cos something definitely happened btwn Penny and Raj. That finale was a big fluke. Season 5 on my own point of view is a big question mark, cos this show that use to be fun is now getting into more relationships. I have one question for the producers, directors and writers of this show, whats the season 5 going to be about COMEDY or ROMANCE? Pls fix it before the shows gets too boring and gets cancelled, cos that for sure always happens.
I’m a total penny/leonard fan, but I thought raj and penny sleeping together was hilarious. I kind of saw it coming. Penny and raj were both drinking and talking about relationships. I didn’t want it to happen but it was the inevitable. And when it got there it cracked me up! Penny has had alot of one night stands, and I doubt its going anywhere. Besides, did anyone else think Leonard looked a tiny bit jealous? I think its going to make leonard realize his feelings for penny and with the obvious leonard/priya breakup, penny and leonard will definitely be back together in season 5. Hopefully they stay together.
