PodClack – Episode 38: Brought to you by herring

Jay Black talks with author Jeff Ryan about his new book, 'Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America', and then with Christy T. about the direction 'Entourage' is going and the direction of TV shows in general.

Welcome back to another episode of our PodClack podcast. Make sure you tune in and make your friends tune in as well, and comment and rate us on our iTunes page!

Check out guest Jeff Ryan’s book, Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America, as well as hosts Jay Black and Christy T on Twitter.

Please keep the comments coming and let us know what you think. Got suggestions? Questions? We’d love to hear ‘em! Make sure you get everyone you know to subscribe to the PodClack in iTunes (and rate us, please!) or via some other feed — we feed Jay’s ego a careful diet of traffic numbers and subscriber count, so let’s not let that sucker die of starvation. You can also check-in via GetGlue!

Thanks for listening!

All right Podclackers — I’ve been watching these comment boards and I am not happy with the lack of participation. I know it’s summer and I know most of my listeners have severe addictions to powerful psychotropic drugs, but that’s no excuse not to comment. I want to see a MINIMUM of like 900 comments each and every episode. Even if you’re just a spambot who found love with a cougar at some cougar dating website, I want to hear from you!

Let me put it another way: I am your Mr. Keating and I have just been fired because Wilson from “House” killed himself and the dad from “That 70s Show” has pinned it on me. I want you to treat this comment board like it was your desk. Stand upon it and say “Oh Captain My Captain” while I stare back at you and think about how this moment will both cement my Oscar aspirations as well as inspire countless numbers of awful English teachers to do Marlon Brando impressions in class.

Get to it Podclackers! You’re my only hope.

Congratulations on the book, Jeff! Too bad we didn’t hang out in college… I guess spent too much time with the guys in the camouflage pants. Publishing a book definitely deserves Podclack top billing!

And the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award goes to…Jay Black, for the role of Luigi!

Note: they did the end fight, like, eight times. The camera wasn’t even rolling the last two times.

“ITS GENE WILDER!” – Me at the end of this podcast.

Did the frat with the camo pants march around campus like they are in a boot camp type of conga line? Or as I put it when I saw them around my campus, a cult?

I commented last time.

Wasn’t Donkey Kong the villain in the original Donkey Kong arcade game and Mario was the hero? Maybe what he did in Donkey Kong Jr. was his revenge.
