There’s the possibility that these two — and possibly another — are A.” A few weeks/months will have passed between the mid-season finale and the mid-season premiere. I will be amazed if Two and a Half Men can actually pull this off.

My guess is that people will flock to watch the premiere and will probably tune in to the second episode to see what a normal episode with Kutcher will look like. If the show can’t pull it off, ratings will start to go down starting with the third episode.

I agree, but I think the whole idea of killing off the lead because you have personal issues with him is tasteless for a comedy show. It just doesn’t fit the show at all.

Just my own humble opinion, but after sampling the show a few times over the years the word “tasteless” comes to the forefront. I found the jokes to be lowbrow and derivative, the show to be very non-funny and, much like “According To Jim” I wonder how and why so many people enjoy it.

Then again, I also concede that comedy is the most subjective form of entertainment and my tastes in television have always run counter to the masses. My favorite comedy by far is “Community” yet the ratings pale in comparison to the likes of this show and “Modern Family,” neither of which even made me crack a smile and I watched the first 10 episodes of MF so I think I gave it a fair chance.

I think the killing off of Sheen’s character is more a spiteful move than a tasteless one, but I suppose one could assert that spite is, by nature, tasteless. (Did I just end up convincing myself that I agree with you when I started in the other direction?)
