Who’s the most awesome Spy on TV? – Poll

Who is the most awesome spy currently on TV today? Is it Michael Westen ('Burn Notice'), John Reese ('Person of Interest'), Archer ('Archer'), the Nikita crew, the 'Covert Affairs' gang OR is it IWCA agent Perry the Platypus ('Phineas & Ferb')?

I am currently obsessed with spy shows, especially Person of Interest and John Reese’s too cool for school gaze. I started to wonder if we locked Jason Bourne, James Bond, Michael Westen and John Reese in a room together for a no-holds barred cage match, who would survive?

While we can’t do that in reality, we can do that in the poll universe. So, I sent out a call to my fellow clack peeps asking about the most awesome spies currently on TV. Although I could only think of my immediate favorites (for this week): John Reese, Michael Westen and Archer; Deb and Carla soon reminded me of my love for the Nikita cast. Ivey threw his hat in the ring for Covert Affairs. And, both Michael and Katie detailed their love of Perry the Platypus in Phineas & Ferb. I didn’t even know a Perry the Platypus existed. Now, I  wonder if my former household pets ever belonged to The O.W.C.A. (“Organization Without a Cool Acronym”).

Below find our banter-ific chatter about our favorite TV spies. Join us, won’t you?

An: Who is the most awesome spy on TV today? Offhand, I can think of Archer,  John Reese on Person of Interest and Michael Westen on Burn Notice. I might add Chuck into the mix since the show just ended. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Michael: Perry The Platypus, Phineas & Ferb.

Ivey: I’m partial to Covert Affairs‘ Annie Walker.

Deb: Probably Nikita should be in there too.

Carla: Becca Winstone (Missing). Michael Winstone (Missing).

From Nikita: Nikita, Michael, Alex, Percy, and Amanda could all be considered. Annie Walker (Covert Affairs).

Carrie Mathison (Homeland).

An: If we have Nikita and Annie, then we definitely need to add their other halves, Michael and Auggie. It’s a shame White Collar doesn’t qualify. I’d love to add Neal.

Katie: Yeah, I’m with Michael on this. Perry the Platypus all the way. He’s a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action!

So, who is your favorite TV spy? If we locked all of them together in a room, who would survive? Or would they band together to form the most awesome spy group ever?

Poll expires on Sunday on April 29 at midnight EST. Vote once a day for your favorite!

Michael Westen’s the clear winner among currently-on-the-air TV Spies, but, it has to be said: He’s no Kelly Robinson or Alexander Scott. TV spies have never been cooler than in the Robert Culp/Bill Cosby vehicle “I Spy” in the 1960s.
