Of course you remember 3rd Rock From The Sun, the multi Emmy Award-winning series from the late ’90’s/early “aughts” … !!!
Featuring high commander Dick Solomon (John Lithgow), seasoned intelligence specialist Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), along-for-the-ride clueless Harry (French Stewart) — uh … hello! Tom, Dick and Harry! — and decorated military officer Sally (Kristen Johnston … man, did I ever have a crush on her back in the day) along with SNL alum Jane Curtin, this was one of my favorite comedies and, arguably, one of the best comedies all around. The show brilliantly showcased four extraterrestrials on a research mission who took on the guise of humans while studying the inhabitants of the “very insignificant planet.” Naturally, homo sapiens and our society were fodder for their adventures and they often became more interested in their bi-pedal forms than their original mission.
These naive aliens experienced the peculiarities of earthlings in marriage, love, fear, doctors, jury duty and diets. The celebrated third season includes co-stars Wayne Knight, Simbi Khali, Elmarie Wendel and Jan Hooks as well as special guests Cindy Crawford, John Cleese and Roseanne with season 4 continuing the merriment. (Interesting Fact: John Lithgow received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for each year the show was broadcast and won the coveted prize in years 1996, 1997, and 1999. Lithgow was integral in making this comedy what it was.)

Oopsies! I meant Tommy Solomon…he’s smart in a very eccentric way and I enjoy that trait!
Tommy because he looks the youngest in his human form, but is actually the oldest and most senior in rank alien.
I was just thinking about this show recently. I love Dick Solomon. His reactions to learning about the different Earth culture things were awesome to see. I flashback to him bringing home pizza like a briefcase almost anytime I eat pizza. “They messed up the pizza again!”
Gonna go with John Lithgow’s character Dick. He really made that show and I think it wouldn’t have been as funny with any other actor playing that role. His character was often very silly and juvenile but he was so funny.
BTW: I want to win but that guy who commented first (mistaking 3rd Rock for 30 Rock in his answer was hilarious so if I don’t win he should.)
My favorite is French Stewart but the one that was cleverest (is that a real word) was John Lithgow as Dick Solomon. He held everything together and his delivery was impecable. Loved this show and really, the entire cast was fantastic.

It is hard to pick just one favorite character, this show had such dynamic characters, but I have to go with Dick Solomon. He had some of the best lines in my opinion, and I am a big John Lithgow fan.
It’s a toss-up between Sally and Harry. Sally is sexy and funny and could kill you with her bare hands and Harry, well, it’s French Stewart. Who doesn’t love them some French Stewart?

Tracy Morgan – oh, 3rd Rock not 30 Rock. Actually, this was an absolutely great show. I’ve got to go with Dick Solomon played by John Lithgow. His comic timing and straight-faced delivery can’t be beat. What makes him indearing is his childlike demeanor. I still laugh watching his escapades (which is why I would really love to win this prize!!!)
can i go with the best pair…. it would have to be Tommy and his girl friend, which is kinda weird cause if you think about it the age difference of the 2 characters is really creepy…. but they came off the funniest. They were even so good together, that like someone mentioned before, in 10 Things I Hate About You they were cast as a pre-couple/couple.
