White Collar – A bigger catch saves Neal

'White Collar' isn't the same show with Neal on the run, so his island adventure had to come to an end. It wasn't without sacrifice. What will happen to Peter and Neal now?

- Season 4, Episode 2 - "Most Wanted"

While I enjoyed the White Collar premiere episode overall, I had an issue with Peter’s actions. They just didn’t seem realistic to me, but that feeling didn’t continue in “Most Wanted.” The intelligent team returned and manipulated both Agent Collins and Dobbs to get Neal back to New York City a “free” man.

Peter saved the day with his attention to detail. When he started singing an altered nursery rhyme to remember all of Rob’s women, I had to smile. Peter’s satisfaction that he had the answer was exciting to watch.

Dobbs did seem overly concerned about the FBI showing up on the island. I never expected that he would be on the most wanted list, but it made perfect sense given the non-extradition status of the island and Dobbs’s job there.

The best part of the episode was seeing the crew all together again to bring down the bad guy. Their plan was intricate and not without problems, but they were able to pull it off. I loved that Collins picked up on the glass tipoff to point him in Maya’s direction. Her involvement was the key to selling the con. Yes, ultimately, they pulled off their own con to bring down Robert Macleish (Dobbs).

Their plan worked. Collins returned Neal and Macleish to the United States. Neal was cleared for escaping and returned to his position at the FBI — anklet included. While I wish the chase lasted a little longer, it is not all hunky dory for Peter and Neal so that will provide a new challenge.

Will Neal feel guilty about Peter’s predictament? If Peter is leaving the White Collar Division, where is he going? The FBI doesn’t do traffic duty, right? All I know is Peter and Neal need to stay together whether in White Collar or another division. Perhaps a big case will come up that only Peter can help with and that will bring him back into the White Collar fold.

Odds and Ends

  • Agent Collins shooting Neal was crazy. Hope that Neal gets off the cane on schedule, it just isn’t an appealing accessory for him. It’s no fedora!
  • Peter ended up quite the convincing bartender — special moves and all.
  • I’ll miss Hector. That kid was smart.
  • The broken martini glass and then the broken mirror. Good thing Neal and Mozzie weren’t overly superstitious. They pulled it off anyway.
  • Mozzie stayed south? He has to return to New York, right?
  • Neal just can’t keep a lady, can he? Maya was a good island distraction, but I’ve missed Sara and Neal together. They had the most sensual and intellectual chemistry. I hope she will make an appearance again now that Neal has returned to New York.
  • Letter of Appreciation — that’s all for bringing the fourth most wanted to the bureau’s attention? At least he’s back.
  • When will Edith Parker tell Neal the truth about his father? Or, will she disappear and keep him in the dark? Could the truth be what brings Peter and Neal back together again? That would be a fun ride.

Agree, Peter was kinda hot when he was doing the bartender moves!! Impressive!! I hope Maya will get the half million, she did give Collins the right info!!!

I think I’m the only one to support you that Sara & Neal works well together… she’s smart, not a liability like the other girls he dated, strong and keeps Neal on his toes!!! I wish they will bring her back too~~~~~
