CliqueClack has partnered with Warner Brothers/New Line/MGM and Allied Integrated Marketing to offer readers in the Baltimore and DC areas a chance to attend an advance screening of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The film continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the Company continues East, encountering along the way the skin-changer Beorn and a swarm of giant Spiders in the treacherous forest of Mirkwood. After escaping capture by the dangerous Wood-elves, the Dwarves journey to Lake-town, and finally to the Lonely Mountain itself, where they must face the greatest danger of all — a creature more terrifying than any other; one which will test not only the depth of their courage but the limits of their friendship and the wisdom of the journey itself — the Dragon Smaug.

Both screenings will take place on Monday, December 9 at 7:00 PM at the following locations:

  • Regal Majestic, Washington, DC
  • Cinemark Egyptian, Hanover, MD

A random drawing will take place on Friday, December 6 and winners will be notified by email. Winners will receive a unique GoFobo.com code which will allow them to print out up to two Admit One passes. To enter the drawing, you MUST follow the rules below …

  • Only one entry per person, per email address will be accepted. All duplicates will be discarded.
  • Your full name and correct email address must be submitted in the appropriate box. Do not put your email address in the comments section. If you enter your email address incorrectly and your email bounces back, this will count as a disqualification and a new winner will be selected.
  • Entry period runs from Tuesday, December 3, 9:00 AM to Thursday, December 5, 11:59 PM.
  • You must comment below with either BALTIMORE or DC. Anything else will be discarded.
  • Note that passes do not guarantee you a seat. Seating is first-come, first-served, so plan to arrive early. CliqueClack is not responsible for the total number of passes distributed and has no control over seating at the theater.
